If Milly Married Lloyd... Part 3
To recap:
Relationship: MillyXLloyd
Genre: I believe it would be a comedy....
Rated: R, though the really bad stuff's behind you at this point.
Warnings: Although Part 2 contained explicit sexuality, there's really none for Part 3. It's just pretty awkward....
I OWN NOTHING!!
Both Lloyd and Milly had had a really good time on their honeymoon. Not only did they take a tour of the particle accelerator and all its components (in minute detail, and over the course of several days); but they found time to do lots of other things, too. They admired the scenery, visited the historic towns, and Lloyd bought Milly lots.
She supposed this was his way of making up for the honeymoon’s general sexlessness (“There’s always masturbation,” he would say to her if she brought it up, “I’ve been doing it for years and I haven’t died.”). In fact, he was almost too eager to please. He regularly served her breakfast in bed rather than pressure her to wake up early, and once he actually gave up a trip to the University of Geneva to take Milly to an art museum.
The morning they were due to leave Milly pulled her head out of the toilet, feeling no better for having thrown up. She flushed, and then went out to the kitchen to greet her husband, who was already sitting at the table eating a bowl of cereal mixed with pudding. “Don’t you look nice, dear?” he said, eyeing the lacy pink-muslin dress his wife was decked out in, which she had picked out but he had paid for, as she sat down.
“Why, thank you,” said Milly.
“So, we’ve had a good time, haven’t we?” Lloyd began, “Hadron collider. Pretty crazy, huh? Soon they’ll be able to unravel the secrets of the universe. And wasn’t it amazing how they could stretch that thick tube into a thin wire just by heating and pulling at it?”
“Uh-huh, sure,” said Milly, mildly bored. Whenever they had any time to spend with their minds disengaged from something or other, the work being done at that lab was all her husband could talk about. Having long since run out of new things to say about it, he was now saying the same old things over and over again. But that didn’t matter now. “Listen, Lloyd... I think I’m pregnant.”
Lloyd’s face lightened up instantly. “Oh, well....” He paused, “How do you know.”
“I’ve been throwing up every day for the past week or so,” Milly explained. “And my period’s very late.” Lloyd went over to one of the little cabinets and grabbed a box of crackers, which he handed to Milly.
“Eat these. They’ll help with the morning sickness.” He noticed the concerned look on her face. “Hey, why so upset? We’re gonna be parents, and you’re acting like that’s a bad thing!”
“I... I just... nobody has kids right away anymore!”
“If it really bothers you you should’ve thought of that before you asked me to have sex with you so soon. Incidentally, not enough people do do this, you know? This is how every other animal in the world does it. Just try to get each other’s attention for awhile and then go to it. And you’re so worried....”
“But I just don’t know if I’m ready to be a parent yet,” Milly put in softly.
“Don’t worry, dear; you’ll be great!” Lloyd reassured her, patting her on the back. “It can’t be that hard, and I’ll pick up any slack. We have plenty of money; you don’t even have to go out and work if you don’t want to!” He walked over to his wife, put his arm around her waist, and pulled her up out of the chair. He smiled at her, and she smiled back. Then he let go of her. “So, we’ll start packing our bags after breakfast.”
“My thoughts exactly,” said Milly, as she sat down and picked a cracker from the box, which she began nibbling daintily.
“Want some pudding?” asked Lloyd, holding out a spoonful.
“No thanks...,” Milly started to say. But Lloyd shoved the heaping spoonful into her mouth. As she swallowed the lump of rich chocolate and crunch, she started laughing slightly. “I needed that,” she said. And as Lloyd went off on a long discourse about how wonderful being a parent would be; how it was their sworn duty as mates to be parents; and how of course their child would be very gorgeous and smart because of her and his best qualities, respectively, Milly felt delighted. All her anxieties vanished. She knew this much about Lloyd: when he was happy, he could always be counted on to make her come around and be happy, too.
THE END (my, wasn't that just wonderful XD)
