Despite being May, I had to check this wasn't actually an April Fool's joke

The Code Geass spinoff I don't think anyone saw coming!

Barcode Geass: Lelouch of the Sale.

It's a new 4-koma manga in the 4-Koma Nano Ace magazine (which apparently only started recently - it's on its second edition, the first having come out two months ago) in which to quote ANN, "the manga re-imagines the anime's title character Lelouch Lamperouge as a part-time convenience store worker." The original story is credited to Okouchi and Taniguchi.

The only question I ask now is: Where are the scans?

ETA: Well, I've found a scan of the first page. Hopefully the rest turns up too, eventually.

Thanks to someone in the ANN comments, I am now imagining this as Code Geass meets Clerks, which is an odd visual.

Talk about unexpected. Considering there have been humorous 4-koma based on Code Geass before, this has the potential to be funny, no doubt, but I'd rather see something more interesting instead. I can only hope it will be good for a laugh though...and that we will still get news on Code Geass Gaiden sooner rather than later.

Nitpicking a tiny little bit...the actual person reponsible for this 4-koma is named Nao Kato. Okouchi and Taniguchi will always be credited with the "original story" for anything with the name "Code Geass" on it but that doesn't mean they're directly involved. Think about how gool old Tomino gets credited for the "original story" of all Gundam productions.

Yeah, it was created and drawn by Nao Kato for the Knight anthology manga.

I thought it was fairly funny; it was one of the decent comics in the anthologies. Better than the tiny orange kun 4komas that are in every volume. But what I really want is something more long-term by the contributor Watari, because Watari actually writes about Rivalz and is also funny to boot.
