At this rate, CG will have a ton of comms here...

I've been thinking...do you guys think CG also needs a het comm? I mean, a general one that won't just be for the common pairings like SuzaEuphie and Lulu/CC (because they've got their own comms, methinks) but that will cater to all kinds, not to mention any related fanworks?

Let me know what you guys think. ^^; And I do hope I've tagged this correctly...

*NOTE: Het = heterosexual = female/male or male/female

And...what about a comm for rare pairings (those that don't get a lot of love or aren't as widely recognized as more common pairings, whether they're het or homo)?

As much as I'm not into yaoi and I'd be all for a het community, it honestly doesn't seem like the support or interest is here to make it happen. :-/ When you have what seems like a 10:1 yaoi:het posting ratio, it's best to just post the het and let people enjoy it on the main comm.

I have this feeling I read something similar before...

While I do enjoy het more than yaoi for Code Geass, I'm also not very tempted to join 1849308 other comms. Posts here have been decent whether they were about homosexual pairings or heterosexual pairings.

I wouldn't mind since I don't join many pairing comms anyway, but I'm kind of worried about it failing purely because of lack of interest in the het side of Code Geass. D:

The less comms the better and the less likely I'll get spammed by 12984748957345743987 cross posts.

Is there a general pairing comm for CG? Not yaoi/yuri OR het-specific, but just a comm for ANY pairing? I'd rather see one of those than such a specific one.

I don't get why this comm isn't sufficient enough... D= at least you won't have a googillion comms for just one fandom.

I'd like to think that this comm is fine for that..?

You may think whatever you like, but it doesn't answer my question, unfortunately.

I agree with you. I like having it all in one place nomnom.

Wow, that was sort of rude. :/ I don't believe there is, though. As the commenter before me said, I'd imagine a comm for general pairings would rather defeat the purpose of a general comm.

[identity profile] ankhutenshi.livejournal.com 2008-05-20 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Well, next time I'll tell them they're not allowed to have their own opinions, because that should certainly be less rude. Right?

I wouldn't mind a comm specifically to discuss relationships of all varieties for this fandom, especially since there's so many ships out there. This comm is too random to focus on anything. Most of the time it doesn't know what it's discussing.

That's quite obviously not what I meant, but okay then! :)

I'll agree with the random point, definitely, but having a lot of different communities for fandoms like this one doesn't usually work out, considering how much rabid shipping gibberish is "discussion". Setting up more comms for the same basic purpose is just creating clutter.

I have to agree. Every time I see someone go off and advertise a new community, only to see the only lasting effect caused by it is that now every post in the main community has a little "x-posted to (the new one)" at the bottom, I wonder what the point really is.

Even if this comm seems a little too multi-purpose at times, unless you ban all of the content from the main community, everything will just get x-posted anyways.
