Help your Mods! (Tagging)

Hi there, as most of you are aware; when we post to this community we have to abide by the rules.
In this case, I'm going to talk about tagging posts.
On occasions, the mods will get a little annoyed when they see a post that is tagless, I don't blame them; it feels like talking to a brick wall sometimes.
But did you know that all members of the community can help ease their headaches? YES, all MEMBERS of the community can add tags to a post; regardless of being a mod or not!

First off, you find a post that has no tags and go to comment on that entry.
Then click this icon here:

On the next page, you are presented with a box of all the tags that are available to be used:

It is just a matter of clicking a tag and saving the changes, no typing needed! If you find that more than one tag is appropriate, then re-open the tag page and add another. It really is as simple as that. :)

So go tagless hunting members! Just don't go crazy....

A message from a real mod, [livejournal.com profile] x_reggg:
"a small mod note for people reading this. please, DON'T go tag hunting @____@;;
i mean if you see a recent post and it's tag-less and a mod hasn't already got to it, go tag it for all i care, but don't you know... go through the archive XD coz that's my job XD"

A note: This tutorial is just to inform those that are not aware of this. To posters, this does not mean that we will clean up after you all the time. BTW, I'm not a mod here. The post I used as an example in the images I did tag myself, and I have nothing against the user [livejournal.com profile] hanako21.

Seconded!

I've been told I 'haven't tagged my post' because I tried tagging a new pairing with something other than fanfic:others, and thus have been reprimanded for something I ... actually did. Not to mention that there AREN'T many ficwriters, so when even a normal-ish pairing is posted (say, Nina/Euphemia), there may not be a tag for it. So what's the solution to this?

members can't make new tags ^^; this is to stop me going crazy when i finally get the time to finish tagging all the posts :P

when you get pairings there's no tag for, you can tag it under fanfic:general or fanfic:others i've already forgotten the difference between the two XD. this is just temporary, as i'll finally finish tagging soon. or ask for a mod to make a new tag for you :P
