Turn 14 detailed summary (BIG SPOILER WARNING!)

Warning: included some major spoiler. So I strongly recommend that if you're not a fan of major spoilers avoid this entry at all costs. I'm surprised the magazine went ahead and gave out something so big.

Spoiler source: Koshimizu at the AS forums:

eh???i didn't expect her to die..what a major spoiler...i dunno what to react x_X

Haha oh wow. That's pretty whacky, there, though the magazines gave away Euphie's death before it happened too.

I was wondering what they'd do with Shirley, actually, because in pulling the same trick they did last season around this point, they basically signed themselves up for either having to up the ante on it, or to fail utterly by reusing the same plot but with Orange or VV replacing Mao, and that's just cheap and lame.

The only thing I really thought they could do, and still keep up the sort of constant raising of tension that they've been going for, was to kill her. So I'm not entirely surprised. And given how the love triangle was deepening so quickly, they needed a way to start resolving it. I'm just more surprised at the "information from Jeremiah" part. Does that mean Orange is working with him? Or that he said it under coercion or force or accidentally.

I knew this was coming. The part of Shirley dying was so clear to me. She would have been the girl Lelouch ends up with, if he were normal. But since he's not, maybe it's just going to be him or C.C. and himself.

*shrugs*

I'm not a big fan of Shirley, but props to finding this information that has become a confirmation of my speculation.

Another one dead. Who is next? =[

Geass Cult?

[identity profile] viola-canina.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I sort of expected that, but still... woah. @_@;

BUT EPISODE 13 LOOKED LIKE FUN FROM THE PREVIEW. Just when I started to really like her. D:

Does that mean Orange is working with him? Or that he said it under coercion or force or accidentally.

I'm going to take a wild guess that the Geass canceler's dispel effect also allows Lelouch to Geass the person again, seeing as one of the things we see when Shirley is de-Geassed is a reverse of the rotating circuit animation (which I presume is supposed to represent brain wiring.) So he'll probably just Geass the information out of Orange, who has obviously been exposed to the effect before.

I knew this was coming.

Because I know that once we have Shirley knowing about Lelouch being Zero again, death's not that far away. And I should stop making stupid predictions

[identity profile] zusammengefangt.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
SHE DIES?
HOHYES, FINALLY.

[identity profile] tanaiel.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I expected that, still ... :(

[identity profile] kirarakim.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm this is a much better conclusion than I was expecting from the Shirley arc. I am glad they are ending her arc for good this time and adding some angst in for Lelouch as well. ;)

[identity profile] sakurakessho.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
wtf... shirley dies? I actually liked her character too... damn

[identity profile] rainbow-cnxn.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)

WTF, SUNRISE. POOR GIRL'S BEEN SHAT ON THE ENTIRE TIME.

Wow.

Lol, sweet romantic moment = character death within two episodes. Gotcha, Sunrise.

Haha, wow. Didn't actually think they'd pull this again.

[identity profile] mystic-fate.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I was hoping she would somehow live despite how the story was developing. I was kinda growing to like her too... T.T Lulu's gonna be in the running for angst king.

[identity profile] rainbow-cnxn.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Personally, I was thinking that after losing her dad to Zero, finding out who he was, getting mindraped, finding out who he was again, getting mindraped again, and then finally finding out yet again, she was safe from dying because, wow, what a way to kick someone when they're down. But I guess I underestimated Taniguchi's sadism, haha.

I actually thought that she was gonna trigger the spilling of the beans and that Lelouch would have to kidnap her and make her join his harem or something.

[identity profile] facilitated.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
WHAT? NO.

[identity profile] thespringmoon.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
When I read this at animesuki, I started crying.
I. am. not. happy.

[identity profile] starlady38.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Hah, way to not get cold feet, Sunrise. R2 should be named Code Geass: Hardcore instead.

On the other hand, it's interesting that the women are the ones who die/go blind, and the men are the one who have to deal with it.

[identity profile] misterea.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I had the feeling someone will die, not expecting her btw

desu NOOOOOOO !!! D8

[identity profile] legality.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
fjkdsa; NO. D: D:

Hah, way to not get cold feet, Sunrise. R2 should be named Code Geass: Hardcore instead.

Given the company's previous history (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4155) I wouldn't say that just yet.

I don't think they *will* go and MAGICALLY RESURRECT anybody, mind you, but still, it's not remotely beyond them.

[identity profile] hzuki.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Aha.

[identity profile] powercorrupts.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
... that's amazing. I wish I'd realized that. \o/ Now that's a completely contrived (not that I expect any less from Geass anymore) but still kind of awesome plot twist. It's also going to really screw with any fans who are actively trying to keep track of all the geasses on people. xD

[identity profile] powercorrupts.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Sunrise? Not kill a character after a sweet romantic moment? But that would take away the reason I watch their animes!

(Besides, every time Sunrise does something happy, Tomino gets a little more depressed)

[identity profile] thespringmoon.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd rather Sunrise piss off the Shirley-haters, and pull a stunt like that. :0
