Okay, pet peeves about this ep. first. C.c. left after Marianne was killed, if we cover up Lulu's lack of memory of her as Charles geass, then how about the time she was supposed to spend with Mao, it says Marianne was killed 8 years ago, was mao really tyhat young less than 8 years ago, because I would have put him as being older...
Bad mother is bad. Glad they finally mentioned Nunnally and why it's okay for her to be dead.
Mariannes geass is so convenient ONLY for someone about to die. HUGE FUCKING STUPID PLOT DEVICE!
Emperor lelouch and Suzaku knight = Happy fangirl.
Now with Marianne's geass, you actually could get other use out of it. From the first time I saw it my mind went to Ino from Naruto, the Bloodline Limit her family has. How it works?
"Ino transfers her consciousness to her target's mind, gaining control over her opponent's body which she can then use to attack others."
Now, I'm sure I could think of a few uses of how being able to take over someone else's body would be useful.... but maybe that's just me :)
Not that this whole ep wasn't crack and full of plotholes, for as much as I love it. Just don't think her Geass was one of them.
I don't follow Naruto... but geass is supposed to be a materialisation of the subject's desires. C.c. wanted love. Lelouch wanted power over others. Charles wanted a world without others lies, therefore he can 'recreate' truths.
Mariannes desire is to hide in others hearts? Have a fail safe defence mechanism? Why would she desire either if her desire is that of her husbands. The geass just seemed too much of a plot device for one purpose, to get the writers out of a fix.
If it were a well thought out process, then Anya would have been present in season 1.
