Yay, R2 is finally back on air! I've yet to get used to Rolo's voice. .^^; After watching the last two episodes of the first season (I missed them during the initial airing), I have to say Yuri Lowenthal really isn't bad as Suzaku. (And this means a lot since I'm a big JP seiyuu fan.) JYB still doesn't completely fit my image of Lelouch. He's "okay" but Fukuyama was by FAR superior. C.C.'s voice is also just "okay" to me and Rakshata is horrible. Did they change Tamaki's voice in the middle of the first season? I could've sworn the guy was louder at the beginning. Anyway... Looking forward to future episodes. No word yet on R1 R2 DVDs, hm? (Haha, was that confusing? R1 DVDs of Code Geass R2.)

Wow, that poster's actually pretty fucking hot. It also makes me think of *that* photoshop. Yeah, you know the one.

But yeah, JYB's Lulu lacks the appeal of Fukuyama's. It's not a bad performance at all, it's just more of a B-/B while Fukuyama's was an A+. Aside from the occasional cheesy Kallen line nobody makes me outright *cringe* like some dubs have made me do. Which is I guess why I'm capable of watching it dubbed at all.

And fuck the R2 DVDs, I'm hoping they do simultaneous Blu-ray releases in the US like they did in Japan.

Yeah, JYG is okay but Fukuyama is EPIC.
The dub overall isn't that bad. It's bearable.

I don't have a Blu-ray player so I'm fine with regular DVDs. X.D

I'm not sure what the exact source is for these statements (they're most likely apocryphal), but I've read that when shown clips of the English dub, Japanese viewers vastly preferred Johnny Yong Bosch over Jun Fukuyama. Interpret that as you will, though as I said, those statements are most likely apocryphal; if someone with better Google-fu than me can locate a reliable source for them, however, then go right ahead. In any case, makes one wonder, doesn't it?

Hmm...... I can believe them liking JYB but I dun know about liking him more than Fukuyama. Fukuyama became VERY popular (even more than he already was) because of Lelouch.

The English dub is very listenable, but I agree with you on JF versus JYB. JYB good, JF stellar. Though the English CC actually brings me closer to liking the character, which the original voice actor did not do. (I don't hate CC, I just don't see her as a character. More like a plotpoint. I'm like that with all the madgirls in fiction.) Lloyd's English voice is the one that hit me as abso-freakin-lutely perfect, because that IS what Britannian Earl Asplund should sound like in my head: dry, erudite, and British.

Hmm... Lloyd's okay. I remember being weirded out at first. I prefer Shiratori's version cuz he's so funny but the dub's not too bad when you get used to it.

aah, i'm going to have to work hard to not spend money in your store, i have to save up ;_; i don't mind the dub (i haven't seen the R2 dub yet) but i much prefer Fukuyama!Lulu, although Suzaku and C.C sound okay.

The second I heard Rolo being voiced by dub!Shinji, I did a spittake and laughed a lot harder than I probably should have.

I've never watched Eva dubbed so I didn't know Shinji's VA was Rolo. Do they sound the same?

Yea, and in a not-good same-kinda-whiney-whine kinda way. Really can't describe it all too well. I think it's because my mind instantly thought of dub!Rolo saying "nii-san~"... /crack

No one can replace Fukuyama Jun!Lelouch... :D

And I actually think that Yuri Lowenthal's voice was quite good as Suzaku... if not on par with Sakurai-san's representation of Suzaku... :DD
