Code Geass on ABC2

Code Geass aired in Australia on ABC2 just now. They aired the first two episodes of the first season and will continue airing it Mondays at 8:30pm.

Did anyone watch it? Since it was my first time watching the dub, I'd have to say that Jhonny Yong Bosch did a fairly good job on Lelouch's dub. There were alot a few flaws but everything went quite well. Who knows? It could have been worse XD

Any reactions to the show?

Wait, Johnny Yong Bosch as in Adam the Black Power Ranger?! I didn't realise that. He was my absolute favourite Power Ranger back in the day, I even still have my figurine of him (funnily enough it stands next to my mini Lelouch too ;)).

I'm going off topic, I watched the dub a few weeks back and wasn't impressed by it, some of the voices are okay but all pale in comparison. Watching the picture dramas dubbed is quite hilarious, especially the 'bath' one.

The Japanese dub still overpowers the English dub. Although after witnessing a Tagalog dub of Code Geass, I learned to accept the English dub even with its horrible dubbing XD

W-where did you see the tagalog dub? I was meaning to see that despite the fact I'm really bad with understanding said language but I always seemed to miss it every time I remember to watch it ;~;

I watched the GS/D Filo dub, I kinda died on the way they butchered up the series with not-so-great-timing and not-so-awesome-dubbing

now, I'm hallucinating how horrible Darlton's voice sounds in CG. lol

This really makes me finally want to fork out and get a set-top box for my TV. D: Even though I'm collecting the DVDs, there's nothing quite like watching it on TV. (I'm glad they gave it such a good timeslot!)

I watched aboutu the first 2 minutes of it so I can't comment on much except that kid!Lelouch's voice made me cringe and giggle at the same time

I thought I did too but then went back and looked at the article they sent around and it was 12th ;__; It was meant to be the week immediately after the Death Note finale but last week they had like Creature Comforts on. But whatever, we have pretty Lulu now.

Oh hack, JYB did a good job as Lelouch? I didn't want to watch the show after I heard that horrible dub on Cartoon Network, but I decided to give it a try anyway since I've seen disgusting dubs before that actually turned out to be wonderful in their original language. To me watching dubs is an anime sin, they shouldn't even make them, just because some stupid people can't read subtitles and watch at the same time.

If you didn't like it on CN, you're still not going to like it. Bosch is the same VA as the CN dub afterall.

I just can't accept Bosch's dub of Lelouch/Zero. I still say it's a miscast. Some of the other VA are decent though. But I will stick to subs because I adore the original seiyuu and Lelouch's dub voice bothers me too much.

I really enjoy the dub. I think they did a good job, considering the choices. At first I wasn't sure (MY NAME IS ICHIGO KUROSAKI AND I'M A SUBSTITUTE SOUL REAPER + CHAAAAAAA + HEY LOSER = OT3? Ichigo x Sakura x Sasuke = Lelouch x C.C. x Suzaku?) but I was pretty pleased in the end.

(Plus, watching Ben 10 Alien Force is like, hearing Suzaku :>)

I haven't seen a decent dub compared to Fullmetal Alchemist's. After seeing DN Angel's dub, I realized Code Geass's isn't that bad. XD

The dub is alright. Some VAs stick out more than others, such as Lloyd (Liam O'Brien) and Suzaku (Yuri Lowenthal). Although, I must disagree with you about JYB. JYB has done a great job as other characters, but his Lelouch was disappointing and I think he could have done better/they could have chosen someone better. Even then, somehow I doubt there's any VA out there whose talent can come close to Jun Fukuyama's.

Agreed, I don't think anyone would be able to come close to Jun Fukuyama's dub since I'd find it really awkward for Lelouch to have a deep english voice. ^.^"
