English or Jap?

What do you prefer to see CG in? Or any anime? I prefer English because I hate having to divert my eyes away from the action just to read the subtitles so I can keep up with the plot. Even if the English dub can sound melodramatic or corney sometimes. I watched CG once in Jap and a second time in English and I do have to admit that Lelouch's English voice is way sexier ; ) I think his voice in the Jap version is strange because it makes him sound like a 30 year old man rather then an 18 year old. But that's just me. ^^

I think anyone who thinks CG is a "TERRIBLE" dub has never heard a terrible dub in his or her entire life. You're taking modern dubs completely for granted. Compare it to dubs of the 90s and 80s, hell, anything from 4kids, then come back to me. Have a convenient example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX9wtuHy3zc

Let's face it - when there are no Brooklyn accents, we have it GOOD.

It's not anime, and the film is mostly in Chinese to cater to our Chinese audience, but if you like it, I recommend watching/looking for the whole movie (I Not Stupid 2) and it's predecessor, I Not Stupid. They are the first Singaporean films to make it fairly big overseas. Home Run, which was produced in between both films, won the most awards, but has almost zero English/Singlish and takes place quite some time back, whereas I Not Stupid and I Not Stupid 2 take place in our era and highlight quite a few current concerns of Singaporean society. [here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkV_EZS-GUU)'s a funnier clip out from I Not Stupid 1, with just a pinch of Singlish at the start and after that, a mixture of rough Hokkien and Chinese. You might like to note that the Chinese used in our films also bears the distinct Singaporean accent.]

As to the topic - I think I have heard of One Piece being dubbed by Singaporeans, but I don't think they did so with Geass. They are, however, airing season 1 here on Thursday nights in the original Japanese with proper English subs.

I watched it first in English, so I guess that might be why. I tend to prefer whatever I see first unless it's like, 80's-90's bad.

I also tend to prefer watching series in English if the setting seems more appropriate for it. If it's SAMURAI FIGHTAN ACTION SHONEN, then I'll probably pick Japanese, lol.
