Rivalz: I see. So when you were younger Lelouch came over for a summer visit, and the both of you came to know each other then. (T/N: The "summer visit" is something like going to a resort or villa during the summer to avoid the heat. Obviously this part is a half-truth)
Suzaku: Which is why the both of us weren't around each other for very long.
Rivalz: Hey, can you stop being so formal? We're classmates, you know. (T/N: Suzaku used formal, proper speech for his reply)
Suzaku: Ah... yeah. Sorry.
Rivalz: Yeah, you've got the idea. But... I see, this is a first. Someone who knows even just a little bit about Lelouch during his younger days. He doesn't talk about it all. Hey, could you hand me that 12 millimeter wrench?
Suzaku: That one? Isn't that a 10 millimeter wrench?
Rivalz: Hey, you're right. You're pretty knowledgeable about this.
Suzaku: A RR1200 BMC. It's a good bike.
Rivalz: Whoa! You know about it?!
Suzaku: A long time ago, before I joined the military, the person looking after me rode one. It was my duty to prepare and wash it. I was told "If you sit on it without my permission I'll kill you, okay?", so I was never allowed to ride it. (T/N: The speech ends with "wa", which is what women use at the end of their sentences sometimes. I don't know a proper english substitute for it, so I went with "okay" instead)
Rivalz: Hold up a second! "okay?"... what? A woman?
Suzaku: Yeah.
Rivalz: Your girlfriend?
Suzaku: No.
Rivalz: Your sister then? Don't tell me it's your mom?
Suzaku: Wrong and wrong. I don't have family. Furthermore, the person who took care of me is already... (T/N: ...dead? o_O)
Rivalz: Oh man... ah... crap, that was a pretty insensitive question, wasn't it?
Suzaku: Don't worry about it. It's just the truth, after all.
Rivalz: Then... do you have a home or something?
Suzaku: Nope. The military unit I belong to rents a space on the university campus, and the dorm I'm staying in is over there as well.
Rivalz: Then why not apply to stay in the Ashford Academy dorms? Oh, by the way, I don't have a roommate, you know? If you like...
Suzaku: But it's my job after all. I made the decision to join the military myself, you see.
Rivalz: I see.
Suzaku: Yeah. But... thanks anyway, Rivalz.

Cecile: Lloyd-san! Please organize your documents at once! I can't straighten out the baggage! (T/N: She's talking about the boxes and stuff they've packed for the move. They've just moved to the university)
Lloyd: I'll leave everything here to you~ I'm sure you already know well enough how I do things, right? We've been acquaintances for how many years now, since meeting in the university laboratory.
Cecile: That... well, it's been an unnecessarily long time.
Lloyd: You... actually like it*, don't you? (T/N: No actual noun here)
Cecile: Eh?! L-like what? I don't really...
Lloyd: The research. Oh, I understand, I truly understand--! Thanks to His Highness Schneizel, we can do whatever we like here. Oh, what's wrong? You look as though you're trying to figure out the wave equation. (T/N: He means she's looking quite scary at the moment...)
Cecile: It's nothing. So, all the general affairs for the Special Dispatch Joint Technology Department will be handled by me? Is that okay?
Lloyd: I leave it to you.
Suzaku: Warrant Officer Kururugi Suzaku, reporting back and resuming duty.
Cecile: No no, Suzaku-kun. At times like this, you say "I'm home". (T/N: Tadaima, "I'm home / back")
Suzaku: But... if I do that...
Cecile: It's okay. I've just decided. Ranks and titles don't matter here. Are you alright with that? (T/N: The last sentence was aimed at Lloyd)
Lloyd: Do as you please.
Cecile: Well then, Suzaku-kun. Won't you try saying it? Yes, do it as though you've just returned home.
Suzaku: Home?
Cecile: That's right. After all, this place here is something like our home, isn't it?
Suzaku: I-I'm home...
Cecile: Louder! With more energy!

I wonder if those who break taboos are those shouldering an inordinate amount of mental anguish and distress---------
Lelouch-sama ordered me to never clean his room one morning, a few days before Suzaku-san came to the academy.
"Lelouch-sama is an adolescent maturing into an adult, and is therefore currently in a sensitive phase" was how I interpreted it, as this is an exceedingly common occurrence.
...However, now that I think about it, that was a shallow notion and I should have given more thought to it.
Sounds were heard coming out of Lelouch-sama's room even though no one was supposed to be in there, so I knocked on the door. There was no reply, and at once the word "burglar" crossed my mind. Come to think of it, Lelouch-sama told me not to clean his room, but he never said anything about not entering it. In a situation like this protecting the house while everyone else is away is of the utmost priority. Having come to that conclusion I mustered up my courage and opened the door.
----------The scene I was presented with was so shocking I felt as though my eyes had been drilled through.
The bedsheets were rumpled, and for some reason the room was enveloped with the smell of cheese. What's more, I was shocked to see what were obviously white, female clothings hanging on the wall, and long boots carelessly kicked off on the bed...
I had no idea puberty was capable of changing a person to such an extent.
It seems that Lelouch-sama has already made his foray into the territory exclusive to maniacs obsessed with altering one's appearances*. (T/N: "Henshin", literally "to change one's body") Now that I think about it, Lelouch-sama has not been home much lately and has been doing a lot of whispering over the phone. If I think of his recent behaviour as him conversing with like-minded people who share his peculiar values and then going out to attend assemblies specially for such people, it all makes sense. Not to mention there's been a rumour going around about Lelouch-sama's "embarassing photos" after the cat incident the other day (T/N: Episode 6)
From a young age the 2 siblings have had no one else to rely on but each other, and Lelouch has always given it his all without once uttering a single word of complaint. It is precisely because of this that, even if Lelouch-sama has one or two unspeakable interests, I will absolutely never look down on him. However, even so, should the other members of the Student Council or the naive Suzaku find out about Lelouch and his crossdressing fetish, the astronomical gap* (T/N: The "gap" here is the inconsistency between Lelouch's cool, popular with the girls appearance and his supposed crossdressing fetish) will surely shock them senseless. To say nothing of Nunnally-sama finding out; I cannot even begin to imagine the confusion and bewilderment she will feel towards the only relative left to her now...
I swear an oath right here and now.
I must conceal Lelouch-sama's secret awakening* no matter what. (T/N: It's something like a spiritual awakening... though obviously not spiritual in this sense >__>)
I will protect Lelouch-sama's sole source of solace to the very end.
