Fanfic- Fade Out
Character: Lelouch
Rating: K
Summary: By the time Lelouch noticed the colors vanishing it was too late to care. Speculative drabble/AU
A/N: This entire thing can be blamed on a friend who, familiar with CLAMP's eye scream tendencies, was expecting Lelouch to loose an eye at some point. I came up with this. (Also posted on fanfiction.net)
Fade Out
When he first received the Geass he noticed a faint red haze over his left eye whenever he used his power. Only the first few times though-then it went away.
He never asked C.C. about it, and she never said a word.
When the stigma spread to both eyes, staining them red, he noticed that all the color in the world seemed…duller, somehow. Like something was missing. He dismissed it, concentrating on other things.
Later he would think it was a sweet irony of sorts-he challenged the world for his sister, why shouldn’t he share her burden?
Purples were the first to go. Followed by reds and yellows-all the warmth of the world seeping away.
Some part of his mind that operated under the numbness that permeated his emotions these days thought it was nice to not have to see all the bloody red anymore.
Then went blue and green, a subtle transition he truly didn’t notice until one day he looked into his knight’s eyes and say nothing but grey.
A part of him mourned the sky.
The world dulled to grey, the blackest blacks and the whitest whites the closest he came to colors of any passion.
He was grateful for the numbness that filled the gap of color, an opaque blanket over the writhing chaos of too colorful emotion.
Then the whites started to go, taking shapes and definitions with them, leaving only empty black. They never returned.
He never said a word.
End.
A/N: rich text ate my spacing, so if it looks weird that's why.
