POLL: How do you think Code Geass should end?

Well by now, we've all (if not most of us,) been shocked, hurt, dismayed, and utterly confused by the eps 24 and 25 special. I have my own thoughts and opinions on the matter of who actually 'won' and 'lost' that little scuffle (for those who know what I mean, think about the consequences of each person LOSING, watch and think about the last few minutes very carefully, and you should be able to figure out who COULDN'T HAVE lost, and who really did lose.)[Poll #1031662]

[identity profile] zalem.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Anyway, I'd choose either the cliffhanger at ep. 23 or our current eps 24 and 25. I don't have a problem with the cliffhanger because I don't view this as an ending at all. Even CG's creators have said they consider the so-called season 2 just a continuation of s1. I think it's best to approach CG as one 50 episode season that just happens to have a break in the middle. Of course, you could say they didn't have to torture us by throwing a cliffhanger and making us wait for the rest of the series, but hey it's really suspenseful isn't it? :) Keeps up the interest in the series while we wait.

If we're talking about the series ending, then I would choose the "continue on its current wave" answer because there is simply way too much stuff that needs resolution for this series to end in 25 episodes. It would be a bad, bad ending if they tried it. I'm glad they didn't.

I completely agree with you.

[identity profile] crackjaw.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
...Do you mean the first season or the second season?

[identity profile] uprise.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Except not all of us knewwwww it ended~! *die*

Anyway to LJ-cut this poll, just a little? D:

It's not over. Only season one is over.

code geass should be watched in one batch so that you dont' get the feeling of wtf-ness and omg-when-is-next-week-coming :D

[identity profile] kirarakim.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I know a lot of people are upset with how it ended but I've come to expect shock value and cliff hangers from Code Geass. As someone else has said the show is not really over so I just feel episode 25 was another episode in the whole scheme of things and not an ending at all.

And I think ending the show with both Lelouch and Suzaku (and Karen) aware who the other was with guns pointing at each other was the perfect way to end the first season. It just made me anticipate the next season even more. My only complaint is I wish Sunrise would have told us when the second season was starting.

Hmmm I would've been pleased if episode 25 didn't end on that cliffhanger. I believe they should've wrapped things up a little better. When you come to think about it, they interrupted a HUGE battle. It just feels weird...

I wouldn't have minded.... IF the second season was to premiere let's say... one month from now. However, as far as I know, the air date hasn't even been announced. It ruins the hype! Oh! And to make things worse, I'm betting that the first episode will be... A RECAP! -_-

*goes back to watch Gurren Lagann*

[identity profile] teletha.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
To me, there wasn't much of a reason to wait so long for two so very wtf!? episodes. I guess they can continue how they are. I don't really care about the cliff hanger. I just am offended I had to wait so long to watch it and have to wait indefinitely for a resolution. :3

I think they'll let people suffer for a while. Gundam 00 is starting soon. Where Gundam goes, so goes their pimping, whoring and leeching from fans.

So you're not looking forward to the new Gundam? But, teletha! It looks so darn cool! :D

Is it bad that I enjoyed the way it ended? Personally, I wouldn't have minded if it had just flat out ended that way. It would have been really unique for a show like that.

As it stands though, the idea of a second season makes me squee and I'm pretty damn content with the way it ended.

Neatly tied up anime is so over-rated =P

[identity profile] thomasvye.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol, I'm with you. I am bored now of people whining about how it didn't all end 'tidily'. How long have we know there would be a season 2? Did people think S2 would have a completely different story? I am perfectly happy with the end too. ;) It was great.

I can't vote in your poll, I am afraid, since every option you've offered asks people to agree with you that the end wasn't satisfactory. Some of us think it was and enjoyed it thoroughly. So there we are. *wanders off*

Voted "Continue on its current wave, dragging the story on more than a good wringing of the Lost plot towel" because I love shows that kicks me in the nuts multiple times and leaves me begging for more (like Lost and to a lesser extent, Battlestar Galactica).

[identity profile] powercorrupts.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I personally get tired after so many cliffhangers. They leave us hanging for months and months... to leave us hanging again? You're right, there is something very Lost-like about that. Really, I wouldn't have minded the cliffhanger if 23 hadn't had such a hanging ending as well, or if perhaps they had launched right into the second season after 25. But as it is, the long periods of leaving the audience hanging will eventually lose any strength, and instead leave fans annoyed.

[identity profile] ramen-cupnoodle.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I kind of want it to drag on. >_>;

[identity profile] lb-x.livejournal.com 2007-08-01 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
As much as I loved the end of 25 (because WTF boy angst amuses me) I also hate second seasons and just wish this show was a little tighter with its plot and able to wrap up in 25 episodes. There's almost too much going on, and so many characters that I feel disconnected from most of them. I don't think there was any reason for this show to drag on, and that it is takes away from its value for me. It seemed so promising after the first episode ...

(but don't get me wrong, I still love it for its crack)

[identity profile] insidiousmeme.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Not bothered by it ending as a cliffhanger. I know there will be a second season, and it's not the only series I follow. I'll just drift on to those.

WAIT, I TOTALLY JUST REMEMBERED. DIDN'T LELOUCH USE THE GEASS TO ORDER SUZAKU TO "LIVE"? ;OOOOO

Yes -_- I remember that too...so I don't think Suzaku can be killed off.
Tho I hope that doesn't mean Lelouch will be killed off T^T

I don't mind cliffhangers, but at least TIE UP A LOOSE END, DAMMIT. ANY ONE WOULD DO. Doesn't matter what Director Taniguchi thinks about S2 starting at 26 and not 1 again, but that's still what's shown, and they could've tied things up a bit better. Gone with a better bang. As it is, 23 was more of a climax and 24-25 turns out to be just a 'transition to S2'.

Two cents on the subject!

[identity profile] runesque.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
Does the second option read as "happy with cliffhanging"? I'll totally go for that one.

[identity profile] megami-tsuki.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind so much that it ended on a cliffhanger
just that they had a cliff hanger and then made us wait three months just to have ANOTHER cliffhanger XP

I would have prefered them show ep 24 & 25 right after 23. and left us to wait for the next season
