FIC: The Emperor’s Waltz

My small contribution to this very addictive fandom. :-)

Title: The Emperor’s Waltz
Summary: Empires may grow and crumble, but music plays forever.
Characters: Lelouch and Suzaku. A little C.C.
Rating: T maybe?
Spoilers: Oh, yes (probably 24-25)
Author’s Note: I love Lelouch, the incurable Sagittarius. I guess it shows.
Yes, I’m having fun at Shakespeare *and* Pet Shop Boy’s expense. Shoot me. :-)
And thanks to verity_isle I will always associate Code Geass with birds.
Disclaimer: Code Geass is not mine.

Imagines Lulu with giant cockroach army *brain explodes*

First it was the Emperor dancing in pirouettes and now a giant cockroach army?!!! Why must you keep planting these mental images in my brain?! DDDDD:

Yeah....-_-;;;;, knowing Lulu the girl, he would probably scream and run away while Suzaku or Kallen fight the mutant bugs with their haxx0r skillz XD

But how do you pilot a cockroach? Like a horse or something? KNIGHTROACH????!!!! o_O *spontaneously combusts*

...I'm not sure how to say this. Although you do wonder what's going to happen to Lelouch after that and you could argue about the politics that follow the Britannian Emperor's killing by the PM of Japan (hero appellation and whatnot), yet it's one of those writings that I can enjoy whichever direction it takes without fussing over the background details.

If I can give my comment without elaborating, it would be "poetic imageries, understated grandeur, and white all over." And "Because I'm alive" made me tear up a bit ;_;. To put it simply, I liked it ^^.

Hmm yes, Suzaku is such a self-rationalising bas- character isn't he... Any course of action he takes needs moral reasoning somewhere. Has he ever blamed himself for his own wrongdoings?

By white all over, I mean exactly that ^^ - Lelouch's cape, the Britannian masonry, Suzaku's attire, the tombs, the birds... If they're not meant to be white then that's certainly the image I got. It's like the calm after the storm but with raging currents and tension underneath it all. Having said that, maybe it's not white but off-white XDD.

Wait, what was I saying? Stating the obvious x_x. I mean, it's not off-white - off-white is a nice delicate hue! It's a murky colour feigning to be stark, unnatural white. Yes, that's it XDDD. Nice symbolism there.

Okay...WOW.

Seriously, this is a gorgeous piece. The imagery in it is striking and it has a very fairy tale-like quality which I really adore. The imagery of C.C. dancing around, of Nunnally's death and Suzaku's betrayal, and the old man's death are all very striking. But the end...the end makes me smile because Lelouch is indomitable. He can't be stopped, not even when losing an eye and because there's so much truth in what you've done.

I really loved it. Thank you for sharing. ♥

OH TEH PLEASANT INSANITY.

You really should continue this if you are going to.
Maybe next time V.V. will be in there?*feels like only person who likes V.V.*

...And like everyone said,I imagined the Emperor dancing when I first saw the title, except it was more of a formal,do-it-by-myself lonesome waltz.
