Cheese-kun

I've saw this in someone's blog and I'd love to share this with you.
here is a link for adopting a blog pet of cheese-kun!
I'm not sure how to use this or if it is possible to have this in LJ, though.
(i'd be grateful if somebody can tell me XD)

if anyone has already posted this before, please feel free to delete this... T_T

EDIT:
what i know so far (with the help and suggestions of fellow LJ users below ^^):
1. in the part called "registration", a RSS page should be put in. (the RSS feed of LJ should be http://username.livejournal.com/data/rss )  click submit.
2. then a JavaScript code will be given. you may post it anywhere (except LJ where JavaScript  isn't allowed T_T thanks [profile] senshicrystal for this info)
3. Cheese-kun will appear in the box as well as walk around on the page you are putting him in. ^^
4. the growth of Cheese-kun, it seems, is related to the number of visiters of the registered page?
5. [personal profile] runesque  and [profile] kanyo suggested that Cheese-kun is feed by mentioning ピザ、ピザハット、チーズ (meaning "pizza" or "Pizza Hut" or "Cheese" respectively) in your blog entries.

I might have sort of got it to work ^^;;

Where it says registration I've inputted the URL of my journal. Clicked the button and it gave me the JavaScript code for the cheese-kun image.

Now this is where I think it has something to do with LJ and if it allows JavaScript in your journal. I tried playing with my layout and tried adding an entry with the code but that didn't work for me.
So I added the code to a blank page and uploaded and that worked. So yeah it sort of works ^^;

I have no idea how Cheese-kun is suppose to grow XD (can't read Japanese -_-)

And he's so CUTE <333

He even blushes when I move him around on my screen.

*goes awww*

Thanks for the link :D

Oh I meant like a page on a server, like http://yadori.net/cheese.htm or even http://yadori.net/sakura/cheese.html

It's just a matter of copy and paste the code into the html.

I don't know with LJ, maybe someone more knowledgeable and someone who makes custom layouts might be able to answer.

That's what happens when I input the code into LJ, I'm only guessing here it may say something about Javascript not enabled or something.

I found out why I can't use it with LJ.

Why can't I use HTML embedding tags, JavaScript, or Flash on LiveJournal?

In general, you cannot use scripting languages (such as JavaScript) or HTML to embed objects (such as Flash) on LiveJournal. Because this code could pose a security risk to other users, it is stripped from your custom styles, overrides, entries, comments, and user bio before they are sent to a web browser. However, you can embed videos and media in an entry.

okay. D:

looks like those random animated stuff that some people have crawling over their desktops haha.

[identity profile] runesque.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried to upload the code on a non-LJ blog, and it's not showing the "install JavaScript" image or anything, but is it supposed to look like this (http://runesque.blogs.friendster.com/reluctant_designer/2007/08/testing_testing.html)? O_o Cheese-kun is, uh, confined isn't he? And he only appears once inside the box.

Speaking of which, I DO have another "blog parts" character loaded. Maybe they clash and the later one isn't working properly?

Strange because if you wait a little, Cheese-kun leaves his uh, box and walks around on the page, from left to right and displays some of his animations. It looks to me like http://yadori.net/misc/cheesetest.jpg

Lets see I'm using the latest version of firefox (2.0.0.6) and the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. I have JavaScript and cookies enabled.

As for the virus move thingie counter I can see it, but only on the entry you added the code into. As their both on seperate entries they don't clash o.o

Now if I was a journal savy person I would dive right into the code and see if I could get it on either of the sidebars. We need the custom layout makers here XD

[identity profile] runesque.livejournal.com 2007-08-23 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
I see it works now but only inside that particular post ;_;. I guess the other blog part is claiming seniority over Cheese-kun. (They say there will be a big surprise it you manage to make him grow to a certain size)

[identity profile] runesque.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe you feed him by mentioning "pizza" or "Pizza Hut" or "Cheese" on your blog, but of course that all has to be in katakana XD.

[identity profile] kanyo.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
From the website, it mentioned cheese-kun will grow/evolve based on the number of hits in your blog or as runesque said, by mentioning one of the following keywords: ピザ、ピザハット、チーズ in your blog entries. At the last stage of growth/evolution, you'll get a big surprise (what that is, I don't know). Maybe C2 wearing cheese-kun costume? ^0^

Thanks so much for that :D I wasn't able to find the katakana for the words and I really do suck at Japanese.

Now I just need to think of a clever way to use geass make my Cheese-kun grow. Which I'm sure is going to take sure absurd number of hits to evolve. -_-

Cheese-kun is copyright of KFC o.o? I thought Pizza Hut had it xD;

Apparently my domain (www.chainsaw-fetish.com) is invalid.

Cheese-kun haet chainsaws.

[identity profile] wqwz.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
me too....I tried to put my myspace URL....but it says it is invalid...T T

[identity profile] gatekeepers-21.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It didn't except my url for Xanga either, but it does accept LJ, just put your journal link (:

[identity profile] gatekeepers-21.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I took the liberty to capture a video of all of the expressions that Cheese-kun does:

I believe this is the second stage of cheese-kun's growth since i didn't notice any changes before.

Other than the new green cap, the skateboard and the different dialogs, everything else is the same (gesture and motions). So I guess a CC cheese-kun or Zero cheese-kun is possible =0=
