Double-posting. Please blame the official site for this. D:

Apparently the Geass team got a lot of questions about the recap episode, so they decided to post an explanation up on the official blog. Translation as follows.

"...The next episode, 8.5 (recap) will be an organized look back at what Lelouch has done in the episode 1-8 and his past.

We've received a lot of requests from viewers who started watching in the middle about what sort of story happened before and that they wanted to see it. We've assembled this recap episode to answer this request. We hope our viewers who did not start from the middle would have more enjoyment of the later episodes as a result.

As for those who's been our viewers right from the beginning, we'd like you to think of this episode as a reaffirmation. If you'd like to bring your friends to watch it with you, it would make us very happy.

Thank you in advance for your support of [Code Geass : Lelouch of the Rebellion] from now on.

*Stage 8.5 will not be counted among the episodes on the DVD, but as a special selection programme. For further information, please check the official site."

...well, I did, but nothing's up there yet. If something's put up, I'll make an edit on this post and give you the breaking news. (Or make a new post if it's further apart and too much of a pain to dig) At least it seems that Episode 8.5 is made because they're answering fan demand and/or this is a good place to recap for middleroad watchers because things started changing post-8, instead of not having enough time to make a proper 9.0. (They did not seem to expect the popularity, haha) Or it could be just pretty words (ironic, if it is) but I'm going to give them the benefit of doubt, it's been very good series thus far. Does the DVD comment mean 8.5 won't count towards the amount of episodes we're getting? We can only hope.

...So it's a movie theater now? Okay then.

Re-cap episode? -.- Whyyyyy?

[identity profile] -obliviondust.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I read but I never like re-cap episodes. Especially this early into the series.

[identity profile] x-reggg.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
blahhh i knew that they put this in for no reason T___T my anime magazines do not support this!! D:

and as a small reccommendation, would you want to condense the info posts a bit? ^^;; i mean i don't mind all the info (i love you for translating it really) but then too many does seem to be a bit spammish ^^;;

of course you can just ignore me if you want D:

[identity profile] x-reggg.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
oh trust me, i live for high-traffic fandoms XDDD i think about... 2 or 3 new news in a post? or you could post something once it comes up, then when something else comes up, you can edit the first post and update the time as well, so it'll still be 'current' ^__^;;

then when the traffic becomes so little people are crying for a new post, spam away! XDDD

[identity profile] x-reggg.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
ohh the climax period of FMA was great *____* i would be spammed by them every single day DD: now there's not much traffic... even the digest post has to incorporate other comms other than fm_a XDDD

you can just try ^___^ i never go back pages, but i guess the max number of news would be 4-5 in one post, then you can make another one :)

yeah DD: hope it doesn't tho!! then we'll need some crack fanfics XDD

[identity profile] thomasvye.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
How is useful information and regular updates with translations spam?

[identity profile] x-reggg.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
it's not exactly spam, it's just there seems to be too many info posts by the same person, so it would be better if [livejournal.com profile] verity_isle condensed them a bit. ^___^;;

[identity profile] thomasvye.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
So there's a quota on the amount of times you can post to the comm even when your information is new and useful?

When I see [livejournal.com profile] verity_isle come up on my friendslist at Code Geass, I know it'll be something interesting; she's a really decent contributor to this community and I really don't see why it's a problem when that person actually bothers to go get this stuff and post it for all to see. Having fangirled many shows where I have been lucky to have maybe one or two other people watching it, being in an active fandom like this is a treat.

[identity profile] x-reggg.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
there isn't a quota as to how many times you can post in the comm. i'm not even saying that she shouldn't post anything new at all. i'm just saying, she could post something new, then when something else comes up, she can update the first post with the new information, if it's just the one right after. of course, if she thinks it deserves a new post, post it in a new post.

the point is, i'm not telling her not to post at all or post a certain amount of posts every day. i'm just asking her to condense them together if possible. in a small community like this, the same person posting a lot of posts can look spammish, even when it's not. if the traffic gets higher or something, [livejournal.com profile] verity_isle can go back to posting a new post when she sees something new.

i know that feeling when you love a certain animanga, only to know no one knows it. like wild life, the only person who knew it was an anon ;____;

Lol, I guess Gundam Seed Destiny's bunch of recaps left many viewers bitter.
I must admit I had a "Noooooo!" reaction when I learned about the recap.
I really wish they'd put some tiny original content in it (characters' past etc) and not only some previous scenes and dialogue... Oh well.

[identity profile] eurys.livejournal.com 2006-11-27 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
It's especially hard to watch GSD when you're a fan of Cagalli like myself.
Her character was totally "raped" >_<

Oh, instead of a recap, I'd like a family tree of the Britannia Imperial Family. Would be useful.

[identity profile] thomasvye.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
Looks like it's true; only Noein 'recaps' with style. XD

[identity profile] thomasvye.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't say exactly as it's a spoiler, but let's just say Noein is a show about time and the possibilities presented by the existance of multiple universes. They repeat Episode one as their recap. Except they don't...

I dropped everything else that ran against Noein - not deliberately, but more because it was just so much more interesting and other shows just fell away. lol. It was awesome!

It doesn't have a pretty art style and the animation is dynamic more than beautiful. But the quality of the ideas in the story were amazing.

LOL~ people who started to watch during the middle... yeah O'm one of them, but thank god there's bittorrent and DD right ^______________^

[identity profile] clamp-hikari.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah me too~
Japanese, they're so behind on modern file sharing. YEAH~ IF they requested it.
empanadas: (Lelouch -- Code Geass)

[personal profile] empanadas 2006-11-26 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw man! I was hoping Code Geass didn't have to resort to clip shows... It's like if Fukuda kidnapped the director and took over Geass. D:

Like you said [livejournal.com profile] verity_isle, it would at least be good with Lulu's seiyuu did the narration for the previous eps. Or at least brand new scenes.
