CG calendar hints
Found this article from an Ebay listing on the recent Code Geass calendar.
Cover art features Lelouch cosplaying Van and Suzaku cosplaying Ray Lundgren. (The two main characters of Gun X Sword.)
Gun X Sword is the Code Geass team's previous work.
Director is also Goro Taniguchi. Character design is also "Kimukata" san. (I guess that's why they dare to release this semi-cosplay pic.)
And the music composer, opening & insert & ending song writers, voice actors, and many of the drawing staff are the same in these two series.
Story is fun and crazy. Very "Taniguchi style". Highly recommanded to folks who like Code Geass. ;)

Now if you want to say Kaguya in that one picture is cosplaying Sailor Mars, I'd definitely agree.
Personally, I just thought Lelouch's outfit was one of the rejected costumes by Clamp for Kamui.

(Anonymous) 2007-11-17 06:36 am (UTC)(link)There has also been a lot of discussion on 2ch about the chains and the cloth, but that's probably just a lot of over-analysis from people who are thinking too hard. I liked quite a bit of what was said though, like how Suzaku's "bonds" aren't bonds at all, and can be easily removed if he wants to (but instead it looks like he's obstinately pulling them tighter -- and suffering for it). On the other hand, Lelouch's "bonds" are heavy and real, but he welcomes the burden without resisting; he has that "Chains? What chains? I'll bear/break them all!" smirk on his face. Extreme over-analysis over something that may have been there only for aesthetic purposes, but it made sense to me.
Planetes is the Code Geass team's previous work; GunxSword came after Planetes, but that was a project by a different team from a different studio (AIC) led by Taniguchi, with some of his free-lance regulars joining in. Aside from KimuTaka, none of the other drawing staff from both series overlaps. The main creative force for GunxSword (producer, series compositionist, main scriptwriter) is also completely different.

Completely agree! That stupid Suzaku always make things hard for himself. Not like Lulu, what he bears of is real but he always can overcome it without hesitation.
Uh... no. Just no.
