Intro post, I guess?

Hey guys, I've just hopped onto the Code Geass fanwagon, but I have a couple of questions.

One being: What are the het ships for this fandom? Just kinda wonderin'.

Two under the cut, for spoilery reasons.

Why is Karen so upset that Zero is Lelouch? Because he's Britannian? Because she thinks he used her? I was a little confused. Forgive me if this is a dumb question.

One: Lelouch/CC, Lelouch/Kallen, Suzaku/Kallen, Suzaku/Euphemia, Lelouch/Euphemia, Ogi/Viletta, Lloyd/Cecile (though I haven't seen it)... there's a lot, actually. :]

Two: I'm going to restrain myself from typing my stupid fantheories in caps and let someone else answer this. XD

I am up for any Villetta pairing. I still think Jeremiah/Villetta has potential, but Ogi works for me too.

Lloyd and Milly is an awesome pairing. I just wrote some smut for it in the Code Geass kink meme

Personally, I think Kallen is pissed for the main fact that she was in close proximity with Zero all along yet didn't know who he was. She pegged Lulu as being a different person, yet she found out that he was someone completely different. There was also the fact that he knew who she was yet he didn't trust her enough to reveal his identity.

I figure she was more pissed at herself than at Zero, but there was plenty of anger to be thrown at him.

...where can I find your work for the MillyxLloyd?... *blush*

Japang seems to produce a lot of Orenji/Viletta, in terms of other het pairings. Personally, I'm all about the Lloyd/Milly (and fortunate, since it's this close to being canon, too!).

LOL is your fave pairing Euphemia and Nina?

[identity profile] dresstokill.livejournal.com 2008-02-19 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
You're not the only one, I really like this pairing myself :)

[identity profile] tenshi789.livejournal.com 2008-02-23 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
<33 I love that pairing too :)

There's really a lot of het ships. I don't know how many get actively shipped, but I've seen idle speculation tossed around for just about anything.

As for the second question, there's a few reasons, I think. Kallen sees Britanians as the enemy inherently, as the people who are subjugating her people. To find out that the leader she was completely devoted to was the enemy... she has no real way, after all, of knowing that he's for real about all this.

From her perspective, she probably can't even fathom why what appears to be a normal, average Britannian kid would be a Black Knight. Sure, she appears the same way to someone else as well, but people rarely think so rationally with that sort of thing - after all, she knows her own reasons. But since she has no idea about Lelouch's backstory, to her, he's just some lazy kid. Likely she's not sure if it was just a game, or if he's a spy, or what. And she dislikes Lelouch personally on top of it - from what I know, she sees him as a decadent, spoiled Britannian. It's even worse than if he was just some Britannian stranger, really.

The Japanese who support Zero see Zero as their champion - learning that the guy they thought was their hero is actually from the country of their enemy is a huge morale blow, the way I see it. I mean, if your saviour isn't even one of your own people... that's pretty demoralizing to a people who are trying very hard to cling to their identity.

Huh, there are a lot of het pairings in CG. And a lot of them are canon. xD Lelouch/Shirley, Suzaku/Cecile, Lelouch/Kallen haven't been mentioned ... I mean, you can basically make an argument for a lot of things in this show.

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] powercorrupts re: the second question.

[identity profile] trinities.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm just saying it's possible. Het is canon in the show, so it lends a lot. There are more sexual allusions between men and women in the show than homosexual--with the exception of a few moments between Milly and Nina and, obviously, Nina and Euphemia. I don't ship it or anything. Suzaku/Euphemia is my favorite ship of the show. xD

And what is your favorite pairing? Why not just ... er, say it?

[identity profile] trinities.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, you can probably make an argument for any het pairing in this show. But most people don't seem to support it. Lelouch/Euphemia is pretty canon, for example, but I don't see a strong fanbase.

[identity profile] trinities.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
They are related, but from a very large royal family. There's canon for those two and Lelouch/Nunnally. But yeah, incest. I guess it doesn't really faze me.

[identity profile] trinities.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Well, given that it's a royal family, it's not surprising if you look at the nature of royal families and attempting to protect their lines. Mind you, their line is extremely long, but it seems as if they only had each other (to some extent) when they were younger, thus making it possible. However, the canon incest is quite common, or implications of it, in a lot of anime. But it's a fact even in "children's" books like Harry Potter.

I don't know why I just explained that, but it seemed like it confused you. xD

Let's see ... of the het 'ships not yet covered, off hand I can think of CorneliaxGuilford, C.C.xMao ... yeah, as others have said, you can find validation for just about any 'ship in CG ^^;; (Did anyone say NunnallyxSuzaku yet?)

CG is a fun series to 'ship ^_^ I can't choose one OTP (though I love Lulu and C.C. together ...).

[identity profile] mossygirl.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
XD I'm glad. CorneliaxGuilford is really cute ^_^

Lulu-Milly has a following which is small but loud; I belong to that group. Some talented Japanese artists and writers also contribute to that pair.

Lulu-Nunally is a popular platonic (mostly) couple.

[identity profile] sevoth.livejournal.com 2008-02-16 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! There's another Milly x Lelouch fan!! Okay, so it'll never happen (and Milly will probably end up with Rivalz. *sigh*), but they'd still make an awesome pair.

[identity profile] a-songfor-xx.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Mmhm. I think the ONLY het pairing I actively like in CG is Guilford/Cornelia. No, srsly.

[identity profile] a-songfor-xx.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I think we actually can have a coherent discussion about why Guilford/Cornelia should definitely be canon, rly.

[identity profile] green-makaka.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
I do love Lelouch/CC, Guilford/Cornelia, Lloyd/Milly, Orange/Viletta. And I do support Suzaku/Nunnaly >_< Yeah.

I think the ship question has been covered pretty well so far, so I'll leave that one alone.

As for your question about Kallen, we have to keep a few things in mind. First of all, we only got to see the first immediate few seconds of her reaction. There was no time to adjust or to think things through. All she had time to think was "WTF?" Now. I think she's mad at herself more than anything else. At one time, she had Lelouch pegged as Zero. She was almost certain of it. But then, he outright deceived her. Not only would she be mad that he deliberately misled her--one of his most trusted subordinates--but she would also be mad that she was so close and yet let him go.

I don't think that she was shocked that it was a Britannian. Zero made no secret that he wasn't an Eleven. She was simply shocked that it was Lelouch all along. She may be shocked that half the frickin' student council were intimately involved in the rebellion. She might be shocked that these two best friends were major actors fighting on opposite sides. She might be shocked that Lelouch and Suzaku had both gone through school normally, knowing (or highly suspecting) that they were meeting each other on the field of battle. But I think that, more than anything, she was just stunned to realize that everything was under her nose the entire time.

Imagine how she'll react when she finds out all three of Lelouch's identities:
1) Lelouch Lamperouge, cocky Brittanian student,
2) Lelouch vi Britannia, exiled Prince of Britannia, and
3) Zero, leader of the rebellion.

As it stands, a bunch of people know of two of Lelouch's identities (Kallen, Shirley, Milly, etc.). However, among the non-supernatural types, only Lelouch and Suzaku are aware of all three of his identities. It'll be interesting to see how this is handled in the second season.
