Schools in Geass?

I was extremely bored the other day and got to wondering about the school system in Code Geass.
What sort of schooling system do they have in Britannia and it's Areas? Are they all standardised? Or do they just adopt the schooling system of the country that they conquer?
Going by Ashford, I'd say they use the Primary/Middle/High school system, what with Anya wearing the middle school uniform and all (and an extra question; just how old is she anyway? xD). However as far as I know, they haven't really gone into detail about anything below middle school.
Now, I know America uses a similar system, but Geass America isn't our America. Do they use a similar schooling system in Europe? I'm clueless at that end xD However in Australia, we only have two levels of schooling; Primary and High schools. Could it possibly be the same in Geass world, or have they made direct references to the Primary/Middle/High school system? I think it was mentioned somewhere but I can't re-watch it 'cause I lent out my DVDs D=

Also! What age would you say they move from middle to high school? All throughout the first series, Nunnaly is in the pink 'Middle School' uniform; where as Rolo has spent the entire R2 (and even some of the character's flashbacks) in the Ashford boy's uniform. If Lulu hadn't gone through with his Rebellion and life was as normal, would Nunnaly have moved from the Middle School to Ashford? (Again this might have been answered in the actual anime, but I can't re-watch it at the moment D=)
And, is there a minimum age for leaving, or do they have to stay on until they finish High School? I know where I am, only years K-10 are required and years 11 and 12 are by choice only.

I know all of this might seem pointless/insignificant, but it's really got me wondering and I can't stop thinking about it xD

Over here in Britain and Western Europe, we have two levels of schooling, Primary and High School. Primary School is P1-7 (ages 4 - 11) and High School is S1-6 (ages 12 - 17-ish). However, the last two years of high school aren't compulsary, but it's still free if you want to stay on.
