Suzaku and Arthur.

Perhaps I'm looking into it too deep but is there any particular reason Arthur (the cat) dislikes Suzaku? I was just remembering of how I learned that sometimes the behaviour of animals around someone can actually mean or reveal something about the character. Unless it is just for mere comical scenes.

It's something I was randomly thinking about. ^^;

Well, perhaps I'm going a little too far, but according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancelot)..

"In the Arthurian legend, Sir Lancelot (Lancelot du Lac, or Lancelot of the Lake; also Launcelot) is one of the Knights of the Round Table. In most of the French prose romances and works, he is characterized as the greatest and most trusted of Arthur's knights, and plays a part in many of Arthur's victories – but Arthur's eventual downfall is also brought about in part by Lancelot, whose affair with Arthur's wife Guinevere destroys the unity of Arthur's court."

The allusion is too sweet to resist.

That certainly is interesting and that it kind of explains their relationship. If you put this theory to how Lulu, Suzaku and Arthur interact it would be like Lulu is Arthur's wife and that may be why he stopped the phone conversation between lulu and suzaku. Lol
But then again didn't he tell Yuffie that he likes cats in general but it is one-sided. so it just might that cats don't like him.

Lulu is Arthur's wife? XDDDD

if you put it this way...how Arthur reacts to Suzaku seems to echo how Zero!Lelouch dislike "the pilot of Lancelot"...
Suzaku isn't with ill intentions, but Arthur/Lelouch don't understand, it's kind of one-sided as well, isn't it? ^^

...so Lancelot will have an affair with Arthur's wife? XD

no wonder Arthur hates Suzaku~ XP

[identity profile] kazune1988.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
and who might arthur be?

i did heard that animals does react differently towards people. like my rabbits run at the sight of me and my aunt's dogs don't mind me. ...........O_o

[identity profile] carcarcarrot.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
and who might arthur be?
...the cat? :P

[identity profile] kazune1988.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
oh.....haha, not a name that i will give my cat.

[identity profile] carcarcarrot.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
me neither :)
did Lulu name it? i don't remember, but if he did maybe the name has some kind of importance?

[identity profile] kazune1988.livejournal.com 2007-01-24 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
if lulu did name the cat that. then not only his personality is interesting, his taste in names are interesting too. i was thinking the whole student council, it is the council's cat.

[identity profile] x-reggg.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
it was arthur's problem really... he was supposed to choose the SON! not the FATHER! so, arthur is really the one to blame :D

am i making any sense?

[identity profile] senefen.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
The lesson here is never steal your best friend's girl, if you do you will have a child by your half sister that will kill you.
Suzaku is most definetly a dog person, maybe the cat can sense it.

[identity profile] carcarcarrot.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
if Suzaku is a dog person, surely Lulu is a cat person?
(i don't really know about the term "dog person", is that referring to their personality? ^^)

[identity profile] senefen.livejournal.com 2007-01-24 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
*nod* its a personality thing. Suzaku likes to please people, takes orders easily, is fit and likes exercise, pretty much does what he's told and doesn't think for himself. = dog person
Lulu is more independant, he makes his own plans and doesnt really like relying on other people, hes also less fit and doesnt like to run XD = cat person.

[identity profile] senefen.livejournal.com 2007-01-24 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Well he ran when the cat stole the mask, so did he want the mask or was his uh frisky for the cat.... *shudder* omg crack pairing >.

[identity profile] senefen.livejournal.com 2007-01-24 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
*sigh* i miss the days when platonic love existed. Arthur/Lelouch = interspecies wrongness

[identity profile] verity-isle.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 10:35 am (UTC)(link)
It's totally the Lancelot factor. Guinevere? Either Euphie or Lulu, take your pick. XD

I don't know the habits of cats, though, so I can't say anything more. Perhaps it senses he's hiding the dark, aggressive side underneath? But then it sort of likes LL too and we know how he is

[identity profile] brennadouglasmw.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
This is completely not literary or intellectual in the least.

I've noticed that cats seem to like or are more drawn to people who are standoffish(?) and kind of ignore or brush them off.

Maybe I'm wrong? I must say that I really like the King Arthur parallel a lot more though. :3

[identity profile] rkold.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Speaking as someone who owns 3 cats, when cats really don't like you, you never see them, the biting is actually sometimes affectionate and to get your attention/tell you the cat is in charge. lol Suzaku just doesn't know a lot about animals since he is a dork.

I suspect that it's either a play on the legend or meant to be humor or most likely both. ^^

[identity profile] rkold.livejournal.com 2007-01-24 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I definitely think there is something dark about his father, but I'm don't think Suzaku's secretly evil and only Arthur knows the truth.

This is not a spoiler as I've been assiduously avoiding them, just a guess, but I would not be surprised if Suzaku was forced to kill his father. It would somewhat explain why they let him into the military in the first place considering he is the former Prime Minister's son. However, I don't think he did it willingly (I even suspect his father night have forced him into it as a means to protect him and give him a new life) since there was also that part about the pocket watch that he had gotten from his father which saved his life in episode 01. ^^

And really, considering Lelouch killed his half brother along with quite a large number of other people, (many without even the hint of remorse) I don't quite think it is the cat sensing an inner darkness or Lelouch would also be getting bitten. ^^;

Pocket watches

[identity profile] maggie3888.livejournal.com 2007-01-24 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Ahha! I think I just found another clamp trait (pocket watches)which are left behind from parents. Watanuki has one too
