The galaxy, err, world is divided in two. We've got an emperor who overthrew the old, aristocratic order for an egalitarian one waging war against a democracy.

It's obviously not the same, but... am I the only one seeing shades of LoGH here? Lelouch is reminding me an awful lot of Kaiser Reinhard.

I doubt we'll see a CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY end, though.

Seriously, Suzaku's pretty much just missing the twin. Hell, Gabranth was even a regicide (though not patricide).

But Venat speaks in iambic pentameter! Which is awesome.

Haha, may Nunnally suffer as easy a fate as Larsa. Chances are low, though. =P Damn. Now I want to see Lelouch kill Suzaku.

This came up on /a/ the other day. I agree that there are a lot of similarities between the characters but Geass comes off more as a really poorly executed attempt at the sort of thing LoGH was. It's really sad because Geass really had the potential to do something interesting with that premise but failed miserably due to executive meddling and whatnot.

I'm starting to get more Babylon 5 vibes now, since Lelouch seems to be headed for a Londo end at the moment.

I guess I need to watch Gundam Seed/Destiny to get all the references /a/ and you guys are throwing out there. Also: Fuck you Sunrise. I'm sick of your shit. I was on Lelouch's side because I thought his cause was a righteous one and I'm holding out hope that all his dickery is a 'just as planned' type deal too. But all this bullshitting around by the plot writers has now caused me to abandon any emotional attachments to characters and support Lelouch whatever end may come. If he ends up being the bad guy, so fucking be it. I know its time for me to throw in the towel when I start to like Nina again. Goddamnit.
