books yay!

Does anybody know anything about these books?
- Graphics Zero
- Graphics Ashford

I LOVE illustration books (and I wish they'd make more anime ones...like the Card Captor Sakura "Cheerio!" series, you guys know what I'm talking about?)...so are these books like that? Or are they mostly screenshots and episode summaries with a few illustrations tucked in?

If anybody can answer (or if anybody has scans ^_~) I'd be really grateful!!!

They're sort of in between. >>; They're not so thick and have plot summaries (not really episodes) with screen caps as well as pictures from various anime type magazines. They also came with a pull out poster and those official character sketches to give you some idea how to draw the characters.

The Ashford one also has an adorable quiz with chibi Suzaku and Lelouch faces. The Zero set has a height chart to give a better idea of how tall various characters are.

Ah, I found the height chart a little mind-boggling. For one, I never expected Lelouch to be that much taller than Suzaku. I thought the Pash! interview stated there's only 2cm between them O_o ---> is nitpicky.

Actually it sort of make sense, since those lines are 5cm each.

Personally, I was surprised at how tiny Kallen and Rival (whatever the official spelling of his name is >>;) are and the fact Euphie was not included.

Yeah, I actually went back to the chart and figured out the difference. The poor choice of full body sketches makes it seem like Lelouch was taller by half a head.

I always knew Rivalz (I believe this is right) was puny; even the girls beat him ^^. What surprised me was Milly's height, which sat aligned with Lelouch's - that's a tall girl. And the emperor being tallest was expected as he needs to intimidate, but there's just no logic in that height...

I didn't notice Euphemia's absence O_o.

Yup, no Euphie, and they even have VV and Kayuga. I wish I could remember how tall she was now lol

I knew Rivalz was short, but hadn't realized he was *THAT* much tinier. Milly I knew was tall from her date with Lloyd.

Suzaku's face also seems larger than Lelouch's and his hips and waist seem so tiny! I think it's the fact his face looks so big in the picture that partially explains why Lelouch looks even taller next to him. In that picture Suzaku so has the typical Clamp young boy build, even more than Lelouch whose shoulder to waist to hip proportions seem less pronounced.

they're more like magazines, and have cleaner ilustrations from the newtypes and offcial art like the postcards from the ed. They have some screen caps too, but the mainly are some info and pictures.

The Graphics Zero one has some cool art, and a pull out poster, but I haven't seen any scans of all of it online anywhere yet. I'm probably going to get around to doing it shortly, though.

They're basically what everyone else has said. Personally, I thought they were rather disappointing as there isn't really any new stuff in them. The only new illustrations are the covers...

I have them and I don't think they're disappointing.
Even if the illustration are mostly known, they have been re-colored.
The B2 posters are HUGE and very nice *glances over at CC poster*

For people who don't buy Newtype regularly it's very handy.
Plus, they're really cheap (like 450Yen each or so)

I have both and find them very good references. The posters also have sketches of all the characters on one side, which I found useful for understanding how their uniform works.
There's also a random picture of Lulu in his underwear wearing his Zero gloves...
