Hoping this is tagged correctly.

So a few months ago I bought Bandai's special edition boxset, the one that came with manga, cds, sexy booklets, etc and dvd volumes 1 and 2. Wondering when the hell disc 3 was out, I ran a search on the site I bought the boxset from and got these results.

I see a Part 3, a part 3 special edition, and a S1 volume 3.

Does anyone know anything about these volumes and parts? The parts are more expenisve, but does that mean they come with more extras or something? All I want is the 3rd dvd with the special features on it.
Appologies if this seems like a retarded question, but its pretty expensive to import american dvds, and I want to make sure I don't end up buying the box set again by mistake. Google has failed me, could anyone help out at all with this? Please ;_;

Parts are sets of two DVDs. The regular edition is just that-- the two DVDs bundled together. The special edition comes in an "art box" meaning on all the sides it's just some pretty Geass art. They include a volume of the Lelouch manga and dubbed Sound Episodes. In this case, on that website I'm not sure which one is the "Part 3" or "Volume 3", sorry ^^; However, all the DVDs come with their regular included features like the Picture Dramas.

Here's how they package them:
part one : dvd vol 1 + 2
part two : dvd 3 + 4
part three : dvd 5 + 6
etc, etc....

Each 'Part' comes in regular two-dvd-form or limited edition two-dvd-form. The limited edition comes with soundtrack, sound drama, manga extras. Check http://www.rightstuf.com or amazon.com for better descriptions.

[livejournal.com profile] nokiirat put it best, each 'part' comes with 2 dvds, and for each 'part' there's also a special edition of each one with various goodies. (soundtrack, manga, etc.) So to differentiate the ones you mentioned...

Part 3 is the regular edition with just the two dvds (dvds 5 & 6), the Part 3 special edition has the two dvds (5 & 6) + goodies, and S1 volume 3 is just the third dvd by itself.

If you just want the third dvd and not the fourth dvd too, then buy S1 volume three. But if you want both the third and fourth dvd then you should buy either the regular Part 2 (not Part 3, that has S1 volumes 5 & 6) or the special edition Part 2 which should have all the goodies like the Part 1 you bought plus the two dvds (S1 volumes 3 & 4). :D
