a) 9 times out of 10 the American accents on anime VAs is annoying to my ears. I don't know where they manage to find these people, western animation seems to have much better voice actors.
b) Anime can be pretty fucking dumb and eye-rolltastic sometimes. By watching anime subbed I can watch it around others and they don't know what incredibly cringe worthy thing has just been said. Thus I get to keep some dignity.
