At this point, there's gotta be a second season--they just haven't picked the pace up enough to really finish it in the next several episodes.
I don't have much in the way of concrete ideas about how it'll end, but I've had a few predictions for a while now: * If any of the main human four (Lelouch, Suzaku, Kallen, and Euphemia) die, it'll be Suzaku. C.C.'s survival is up in the air, but I think it's more likely that she'll die than Lelouch. * The power of the Geass will have a connection to Arthurian legend. * Euphemia: next Empress of Britannia, but she'll have to lose a lot to get there.
More speculative: * C.C. is the Lady of the Lake. * C.C.'s people are something like the sidhe or Tuatha Dé Danaan of Irish myth. Maybe with a more sci-fi than fantasy bent; no clue yet.
