Well, we've had some speculation/spoilers that essentially confirm this, especially since the girls are chatting about how they used to fight over being Lelouch's bride. I'm surprised they didn't fight over being Lelouch's husband.
I would be much more friendly toward the Lelouch/Shirley pairing if 1.)it went somewhere and quit teasing and 2.) I didn't hold an unfair resentment toward her for stopping Euphemia from talking to Lelouch when it was most important. This series really is a case of bad timing. I did notice Lelouch was most worried about Shirley when the stuff fell down in the horror house, but I think it also had to do with his knowing she is the least likely of being able to defend herself. He knows the rest of the group are all warriors. I wish Lelouch would make up his mind on Shirley.
