there is a manga but the manga is no related in anything to the anime Sunrise and specificaly the director friend of Clamp want to do a serie based in the manga but only for the mecha and the basic trama but he wants strong a upper characters in it so he talk with Clamp and the designe characters and some background for them this in a lot in conversation with the director and Clamp still have this conversation with the director but the history line is from him and sunrise
