what do they mean by this? Can anyone translate this?

最終回を終えた後、多くの方々から続編を望んでもらいました。
それらの声に応えるにはどうすればいいのか。
我々は再び集まり、話し合い、単純な「続き」ではなく「拡大」を選択することにしました。

今回、その嚆矢として、赤根監督のギアスが実現することを、とても嬉しく思っています。
今後、発表されていくだろう「拡大」も含めて、みなさんご期待下さい。
