I have some doubts about the new series. While I will continue to profess that there were "many" unexplained aspects of the Code Geass R2 series like 1.) What is really Geass - the entire purpose of the power and code 2.) Flash back images - the children with the codes
Back in April we were told that there will be a new series and given very little information on it. Sunrise has been trying to build up our anticipation by with holding information and providing two character designs in January. While they are lovely, I watched Geass because the character of Zero was compelling and the Geass power woven a mystery that kept me anticipating more each episode. With the Lack of Zero, and the setting of 2017, I fear what i can expect from this series. I have to wonder if this 'side story' will explain what was not explained in R2, or somehow going to open up the continuation of the power Geass, that Lelouch tried to destroy in R2.
All of this can be addressed when an official air date has been set. I think we the fans have waited long enough, a nine month hiatus from the first teaser of the new series, without any new information? On the other hand this might be like Kuroshitsuji II where the main characters from the first series were not mentioned until the first episode.
