Yes, possibly! It makes me think there might be a hierarchy amongst the wives, determining the status of their children (first wife's children are the first in line to succeed to the Imperial throne itself?). However, the children do seem to have the opportunity to become 'mini Emperors within the Empire' by becoming the governors of territories within the main Empire. :)
