Oh yes, it is. You're right on both counts. If they throw the overpowered right back in our faces and remind us that the Lancelot is just that---an experimental war machine---I'd be happier. The way it's used now is just like...well, it's more like the SuperMech of Good and Justice. And it's just---I don't know, it beats everyone else TOO cleanly. Even an old model should have a fighting chance with the new if the commander's good enough, that's the way the machines in our world worked. Not so with Lancelot. That's why I say it's almost like an authorial cheat---with it, Suzaku can win everything with nearly no effort. Good way to end battles. (And if it's in Schneizel's hand, I'd still say it's cheap all the same)

Let me assure you that I was quite unhappy with how powerful Guren Nishiki is, as well. But since it's not being used as a deus ex machina solution yet, I currently hold no dislike for it.
