As for the red herring, I still say there may be something to be said about Charles and C.C. more or less fighting over Lelouch in this episode. They are accomplices yes. Does she want him back because she cares about him or does she want her contract? I also feel that contract may in fact be linked to Charles, seeing as he is also a Geass user.
