I dunno, Suzaku may just be a victim of his morals. Maybe he does feel sorry for Lelouch, and he doesn't really wanna kill him, but is morals and pride tell him that what Zero is doing is wrong and he must stop him.
Because of this, he has claimed Zero as "his kill" and won't let anyone touch him. Probably because somewhere, in that little heart of his, he still doesn't want to really kill his old friend. Maybe he's hoping Lelouch can be brainwashed again, or something.
I just think it's too early to dismiss Suzaku as a tratior, even if he does make a sexy two-timing bastard.
