I find it very interesting you refer to one of Lelouch's goals as safety, especially bringing up that line. I always thought it was more along the lines of protection, but safety makes a lot of sense.

Yes, I do think Lelouch was planning on using Suzaku's feelings, but I am still very surprised that he misjudged them so very wrong. You made another interesting point about Lelouch underestimating those he cared about. I just can't believe he would do it AGAIN. He's already by caught by Suzaku's inside knowledge once before. You'd think he'd be more prepared for it. I do want to go more into his stopping Rollo from killing Suzaku, but I don't want to get shot down by canon.
