I'm familiar with how the Death Note works, having read the "How to Read" as well as owning one. :\ I was merely pointing out the similarities between one particular aspect of the Death Note (in this case, being the simple heart attack death of those victims that could not possibly fulfill the details written in the note) and the possible circumstances that led to the carved wall being unfinished. I wasn't suggesting that Geass and the manner in which the Death Note works were completely alike. In fact, I'm very aware how different they actually are.
As for whether strength of will comes into play with the Geass, I'd actually argue that Euphie is a lot stronger than most people. She was the only one to resist the Geass, even if she did give into it for some time. In the end, however, she did overcome it, which was not something anyone else did.
Now, your theory is something I did consider, however should the Geass have worn off for Carve-tan, than the effect would be the same for anyone else who would've experienced Lulu's Geass before he lost it. So far, there is no evidence to suggest this. It'd be a stretch to assume so. If anything, Suzaku's will to live on might possibly be evidence that Lulu's Geass is still affecting those that have experienced it. Otherwise, Suzaku might have gone back to his martyr-ish ways rather than taking an active role in changing the future.
