I think it's interesting you bring up the "weaning" concept since lulu_quality pointed out that in the OP Lelouch's anguished expression as he reaches for Nunnally gradually changes to one of fierce determination. I doubt Lelouch will ever give Nunnally up, but maybe he will learn to manage his falling apart when she's not safe as far as he is concerned. I also note that during the preview for Turn 6, Lelouch sounds more jealous than worried about Nunnally. Lelouch has always been so very jealous when it comes to those he loves. Take Suzaku and Euphie. From either angle even.
The creators have promised things will go badly for Suzaku when it comes to the Geass. This is why I am hesitant to buy into theories of Geass limits. Unless Suzaku's geass does its terrible job and then fades.
I think everyone knows Gino is doomed. After losing Euphie, anything is possible.
