Depends. When the ending of episode 3 was leaked, I downloaded it immediately because I knew there was no way I could avoid people discussing it for, what, 6 days? I knew if I didn't watch it myself, someone else was going to bring it up and I'd be spoiled anyway. "Better to kill yourself than be murdered!"
During season 1, I avoided Geass spoilers of any kind like the plague. I waited on subs for every episode and wouldn't even consider watching a raw. The only time I read summaries was after watching the episode to make sure I didn't miss anything. Mind you, I considered Code Geass a serious, intelligent drama at this time.
Now I watch raws and read magazine "spoilers." I don't really count most of the stuff in magazines as spoilers because they don't reveal any key plot points. A real spoiler is "____ DIES" or a detailed summary; something that really affects your enjoyment of the episode. Minor spoilers are fine and add to the fun.
