I was "meh" on Suzaku at first, except when he was with Euphemia. But I did get a little bit interested when he started to show his issues and past trauma. Still not that interested, though. Oh well, that could always change as he gets more development.
It's not so much that I feel he's cliche as it is that I don't find him very interesting. Pretty much everybody in Code Geass can be compared to characters from other anime or manga, even the supposedly oh-so-original ones like Lelouch and C.C. :) (Although I think Lelouch is probably the most original of the lot, not because he's oh-so-dark and ~*~cool~*~ but because of the way he uses strategy and leadership.)
