1) I see your point about Suzaku supporting Nunnally. I didn't really think about that. It's just that it was such a bad political move that if Zero hadn't agreed to participate, I wonder if the Britannian government might have forbidden her from continuing.

I agree with all of that, actually. It's just that there's such a huge disparity between how he treats the people he cares about and how he treats the random soldiers he meets. It shows that he doesn't believe other people's lives are worth as much as the lives of those close to him. The fact that he's doing all of this for others may not be so much an indication of his selflessness, but a testimony to how closely his dreams are connected to his family and his past.
(... I wonder what the fact that he's my favorite character because of all this says about me? o_O)
