Fortunately, it looks like our basement will be finished soon (if our contractor EVER gets us the right fireplace for down there. >.<) and we can get it out of there. It's been holed up there for almost a year now.

I can't wait. There are a few costumes I'd like to make with our spare fabric, I already have the plans. :D

It took a long time because we got it done...semi-professionally. A woman my mom works with's husband wants to start his own contracting business, so he agreed to do it for half price on weekends when he's not working for the company he's working for now. We got it half price as long as we agreed he could take photos for a sample album, or something.

But it takes a long time, since this guy DOES work a full time job in addition to helping us get our basement done. >.<

All that's left is the fireplace, and then the flooring and it's done. But he has (TWICE) bought the wrong electric fireplace and then installed it. If we weren't getting this for half price, my mom probably would have had a long bitchfit at him about his incompetence.

I'll give them...whenever they get done. I love showing off my costumes. <3

Yay! I shall look forward to them in the indefinite future. Showing off costumes is tons of fun, I must admit. I do tend to overdo the costumes though. I have 8 planned for one con next year. *fail*

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's not that hard to take a sample of the wood color we requested and go to the warehouse looking for it. But no, he does things the hard way. >.>

I have yet to make a Code Geass costume, but I'm thinking of doing C.C.'s bondage outfit first. I just have to find an adequate pattern that I can alter. I don't do well at making my own patterns, but if I have a base that I can go off of and alter a bit, they turn out okay.

The cosplay costumes I've made so far are: Sango from Inuyasha (now in need of dire repair, but I haven't looked at it in years), Ed from FMA, Miaka/Yui costume from FY (most accurate costume I made so far, I should add), Ranma, and OoT Link. (My fav...running around with the master sword is fun! :D)

I also have a few just random costumes, like my flapper outfit, my medieval princess outfit, sorceress outfit, Japanese miko costume, kimono, and my chinese dress, but I bought a few of those. D:

I'm also thinking about making a few Organization XIII coats for me and my sister to wear to Otakon...I'm gonna be Axel. :3

I usually have some friends help out with the pattern since they're all so much better than me at it. :P But that'll be really fun! I'm doing her R2 outfit now, and one of my friends is doing her bondage outfit. Chances are my friend is going to steal cheese-kun and wander around with him though... :(

I've done Kallen, Rinoa from FFVIII, Bianchi and M.M from Hitman Reborn, almost done with R2 C.C, and working on a pokemon gijinka of pink Shellos. I'm also going to do Patty from Soul Eater, Miku the vocaloid, Arashi from X/1999, and Elizabeth from Persona 3.

Maybe I should ask a few on the CG cosplay comm if they know of a way to learn how to make your own patterns, because I suck at it. >.< And none of my friends know how to sew. They think it's amazing that even I know, even though I have to hide my non-straight stiches under other bits of the costume sometimes. *cough*

I'd like to do Kallen's R2 outfit (the Black Knights one with the shorts and the hiiigh boots), C.C.'s R2 outfit, C.C.'s bondage outfit, Sakura from Tsubasa, Aika from Skies of Arcadia, and Takiko from FY: Genbu Kaiden sometime in the future, though. Hell, I may even make a Lelouch outfit for the fun of it...so many fun hand poses to do...:D

Yay, those sound all very epic! I was worried about C.C's R2 boots to begin with, but I found perfect boots, white, no shoe laces, tight, mid thigh, on sale at the crap mall near my house for $20. :D It was a sign from above! Code Geass outfits are so epic. <3

The best I ever found was everything for my Miaka outfit one day at Kohls on the discount rack. :D Well, the skirt was originally grey, but that's where dyeing comes in. :D

But for my Link costume, I made everything except the weapons and small accessories; I got those off ebay. The boots were the WORST. D: I never, EVER want to make shoes again. Sure, they look fine now, but the process of making them is a dark tale of misery that I shall not speak of here.

AND I just remembered, I need to buy a new belt for that costume. While cleaning my room, I picked it up off the floor Where I left it after getting back from Katsucon in Feb. and managed to break the buckle off somehow. D:

I promised myself I would never ever try to do too much with shoes. I draw the line at my C.C boots since all I have to do is glue a little bit of fabric on.

Aw, poor Kit! I'm always deathly afraid that I'll kill a part of my costumes. :(

Slightly off topic story that popped into my head, so I had my Kallen costume made a while before the con, and I had lacrosse season right after I made it. Long story short, Rasha lost weight, costume became a little big. Solution? Safety pins! Worked out well in theory...until I needed to go to the bathroom. I didn't want to redo the half hour of pinning so I didn't go to the bathroom at all while I was at the con. Yay for 3 days of no peeing till I got home!

My costumes are always so complicated that it's really hard to go to the bathroom in them. The ones made of actual CLOTHES (like the Miaka and Ed one) were the easiest to get out of. The Link costume was hard, because I usually spent a good 15 minutes making it look JUST SO, and I also wore two pairs of tights because I bought one pair and discovered it was too see-through.

I never go to the bathroom when I wear my Miko outfit, though. The hakama is too hard to get out of an then get back on. Actually, I'd like to wear that one again sometime, but I need a wig to make it look good, since I cut my hair so short. (I now look like Suzaku + boobs!)

I agree, costumes tend to hate bathrooms. :(

My hair used to be down to my waist but I had to cut it to get into my Kallen wig. Too bad though, it was perfect gothic lolita hair.
