Yeah, Shirley was pretty much Lelouch's last real connection to Ashford. I don't know what this will do to his happy crack dream of bringing everyone back to watch the fireworks.
Like Realms said, Rolo is very much a young child since he lacked a real childhood. I love the toy comparison for Lelouch though. I too cannot hate Rolo because a lot of how messed up he is now is Lelouch's fault for manipulating very volatile and unstable emotions. Rolo was acting for his new mission of protecting Lelouch; he thinks what he did was right.
