19 now! Unfortunately, I have nothing to give. D: Since y'know, I have no talent. However, uh. Hey! Why not have a discussion regarding on Suzaku's..origins? Or just Suzaku in general? Because Suzaku discussion is always love.



- So. Who's the mom.
- Can he REALLY lift up Lancelot's leg who is about 6 tons? 5 tons? DEFINETLY HEAVY.
- Who is the woman that took him in after the war? (From picture drama, whatever the one with Lloyd humming)
- How stable was Suzaku's mind in season 1?
- Is he a virgin?
- Why does he ship Lulu/Shirley so much?
- Does he likes anyone now, since Euphie's dead?
- Do ALL cats hate him?
- I don't know, as long as it's Suzaku related, bring on the discussion.

I agree, and I think we're just differing on definitions, as I see "mental stability" as more of an everyday state of mind.

My reasoning is that he was basically so crazy that he had built up these huge defenses against his own thoughts to give himself a reason to live. And that these defenses are so strong that it lends him great stability. But of course, we know that his walls need juuuuust the right strike against them (lol massacre) in order for them to come tumbling down. I agree that his "withstand it until you shatter" type of stability is certainly unhealthy, but barring extraordinary circumstances, he's still pretty damn stable.

And I agree that if he was left to his own and incapable of attaining any guiding influence, he'd go bonkers.

However, I interpret the season finale a bit differently. He certainly was crazy and unhinged, but I saw that as more of being crazy with rage instead of crazy with a lost sense of purpose. Sure, he lost Euphie, but he was still her knight. In his rage, he definitely found his purpose in avenging her (he put on her pin before joining battle) and killing Zero, and that purpose gives him a stable enough mind to do all the things he does in R2.

Lmao, apparently not? I personally can't see him having sex, but I guess he has. So maybe with some older lady once, but then never again. I bet Euphie was grabbing his ass, though.

Oh okay, I got your definition. I agree on everything too (including the "being so crazy that he's actually able to function"), it's just a difference in interpretation of stability. Unhealthy I can definitely say is true.

And maybe I should have worded that better, orz. I meant that she herself was taken away in death; she certainly still existed in his mind to give him a purpose. However, he wasn't using her own wishes went he went off with an intent to murder; he may have fought with her name on his lips and her pin over his heart, but the goal itself wasn't something that she would approve of (trying to kill Zero in vengeance). He was bending the memory into something that will still justify his behavior. And you're right, that same kind of mentality is what guides him through R2—though he does at least realize to some degree in Turn 08 that his actions weren't necessarily reflecting Euphie's own thoughts.

Again, that's a difference in the definition of stability. I see that constant need for a hold in life—even if that hold is based on a falsehood or twist—to be unstable, even if he appears otherwise in everyday life. Maybe just because it can change so quickly. But yeah, I think we agree on everything but that definition. XD

About his twisting Euphie's wish to give him a purpose, I certainly think that that's true.

And I think that we agree that no matter what our definitions may be, Suzaku has been, is, and likely will continue to be pretty wonky (for at least a few more episodes).

I'm surprised there's not more fic dealing with his guardianship, in particular the first few years. I can just imagine him curled up on his bed in the beginning in a semi-catatonic state, haha.

Well, lemme take a crack at these questions...

Mom: Emperor Chuck Well...Hell if I know...a Sumeragi, maybe, since he was related (and Engaged O.o) to Kaguya?

Lancelot's Leg?: Given some "hints" we've been given, I think Suzaku received some superhuman steroid thingy in his childhood or something or other--so maybe?

Woman: I haven't even seen that picture drama.

Suzaku's mind: Stable enough that he gave the appearance of sanity, but if something pushed him the wrong way... DX So...stability with instability right under the surface. Those wing-things from xxxHolic that cause insanity got him...

Virgin?: Well...I dunno about this one. We know without a doubt that Lelouch is (boy has no sex drive, period. -_-) but as for Suzaku...I dunno, he WAS in the army but...I just don't want to think about it. My take on the character is probably yes, but Hell if I really know.

Lulu/Shirley: Because the boy wanted Lelouch to have a normal relationship and forget about destroying the world.

Likes?: No. I think that boy is still clinging on to Euphie...I mean if he still wears the GOD AWFUL shades that he wore the day he met Euphie, he must still be clinging to her.

Cats?: I think it's just Arthur, since he did say once that he 'liked' cats, so maybe it really is just that damned Arthur.

- Suzaku can lift anything.
- He was mostly normal. Early on, though, I always wondered if he was a bit on the crazy side. Then he had his naked freakout in ep. 11 and then there was the Mao thing and father revelation in 16 and I was so so happy I was right. The boy is really fucked-up, and it is delicious. I wanna hug him. (yes, even now) HATERS TO THE LEFT.
- I still believe he and Euphie got it on behind the scenes.
- Because he's a sweetheart.
- He's nearly asexual at this point.
- Only Arthur. He plays hard to get.
