Well, I don't really believe it was fangirl bait. Even though that was thehottest line I have ever heard come out of Jeremiah's mouth *melts*
I'm pretty sure it was a show of respect. Since Jeremiah held Marianne in such high regard, I don't find it surprising he would see Lulu in the same way as his mother.
I would also say it was foreshadowing except my gut feeling keeps screaming Lulu won't make it in the end. I hate to say it to, but the thought keeps coming no matter how hard I try to smash it.
