I'd have to agree. I would find the way Rollo died and Lelouch's change of heart about him really touching if it wasn't just, well... Rollo. I mean, Lelouch really did hate him and did want to kill him, and he had good reasons for that. When he shouted at him in this episode, I was like "Wow, he's actually telling the truth for the first time in this show!" (and so it was kinda ironic that Rollo mistook it for a lie... XD;;). But then he died in such a noble and poignant way, loved by Lelouch as if he had forgotten what kind of a person Rollo was, and I felt like his way of death had a lot to do with fanservice. :/ Perhaps it made me like Rollo a little more (just as it was supposed to), but I didn't find it believable.
