I also think you've hit the nail on the head as far as Lelouch and Suzaku's joint sucide mission is concerned. That was probably the most obvious part of their plan. What's more ambiguous is who they are going to leave in charge after them/what state is the world going to be in when they leave it, because all I can see is more chaos and pain. Lelouch only seems to care about those close to him, he certainly doesn't see turning those unknown to him into his slaves forever, and killing the masses for his end goal. Nunnally coming back is a good thing, once she has her sight back (It will happen) she can rule (Hopefully without Schneizel whispering in her ear... The man must die...).
The one I don't understand is Suzaku. His LIVE geass should react towards Lelouch's plans as it involves both of them heading down a road towards death, unless the plan has a loophole where he can live. I'm sure the LIVE geass has more to it than running away from pew pew lasers. It looks like RESULTS!Suzaku is here to stay though, he didn't have to kill those knights, and he certainly didn't have any (visible) qualms about the deaths caused by Lelouch in this ep. The only one he spared was Gino... I'm not sure I quite like this Suzaku, who was at least didn't kill unless he had to. Just like Lelouch didn't used to take away free-will from his followers. This is proof of their determination for self-destruction, which seems impossible from someone who has been ordered to, and must obey that order, to live.
In short, the boys make me cry, because they are going to die.
