Hey everyone! I was wondering your opinion/s on something.

There are so many characters in this series, and so many of them are important and popular. Who do you think are the most popular and/or important characters in Code Geass BESIDES Lelouch/Zero, Suzaku and C.C.?

If everyone could give me the top 4 that they think, that would be so super helpful. And if there's a certain outfit that they're more popular in, please include that. Since Sunrise likes to make dress-up dolls out of everyone >3> Thanks in advance for any help!

Popular: Definitely Kallen.

Important: Now this is more difficult. My first thought is between Schneizel and Nunnally. But Schneizel did little in S1 and didn't go to prominence in R2 until Charles died, while Nunnally is always sheltered and doesn't know what's going on in plots for the better part of the series. Then again, Kallen is also important because we see her from the start, her motivations, her thoughts, her dilemma. Only recently she seems to be relegated to a mere fighter. But when I think back about the whole series, yes, it's Kallen after all.

It's hard to limit yourself to 4 since almost anyone in Code Geass has a sort of symbolic role, at one point or another of the show...

(Lloyd & Cecile, Nina- in a way : science can be easily manipulated for the bad/ Ohgi & Villetta : love makes you overcome your differences and is what truly matters in the end/ Shirley: is it possible to forgive/Guilford, Jeremiah: loyalty brought to extreme consequences/ Clovis: how people with a sensitive soul could be sucker at leadership/ Todoh: the virtuos and non-britannian way of being in an army/ Diethard: side with the 'winner' is not always the best choice/Tamaki: how the dumbhead goes to war/ Nunnaly: the innocents we have to protect/ Rivalz: althought powerless, we are not worthless/Gino, lately: what are you fighting for..? - and so on...)

..but if I have to say four, there will be:

Euphie - the most positive character of the whole series, strong and dedicated to the benefit of the whole mankind. She incarnates the dream that a world of love, peace and cooperation was actually possible. And, as history always repeat itself, she got shot. :/

Karen - her whole story offers very nice parallelism with both Zero and Suzaku ( I won't go into shipping consideratio, but for the symbology of characters, her falling for Lelouch mess things up for a little worst)

Schneizel - for obvious reasons, there will be no R2 without Schneizel, but I was expecting a little more than this vague idelism from him...-.-;

Kaguya - maybe not so prominent, but she embodies well the values Lelouch is not taking up for himself but is determined to protect and push against his father's Britannia.
She's on top of the pile of characters that rapresented mankind- caught in the middle in the struggle between the two Kings (Schneizel & Lelouch).
She's the one, among others, that is destined to inherit the new world Zero has contributed to create.

Charles & Marianne, I'll never understand them.. ^^;

As for popularity... well, I guess Rollo owns the fandom, beside being quite useless as a character.

Are you asking which characters the people replying like, or which we think are popular with the general (?) anime-watching audience?

Important, nobody is really all that important compared to the 4 mains, because the supporting cast are lucky to get 3 mins of screentime per episode. Nunnally is probably the most important, though more as a plot device than a character in and of herself.
