While I have issues with the word 'anti-hero', I agree that Lelouch, so far, is being more ambiguous than Light-esque heartless slide into evildom. He's resisting, so to speak. But again, the word Taniguchi used was 悪人, it's more straightforward, but the connotations were less...strong than in English. I can't find a word that settles on it properly, so I used 'villain'.

That's one of the reasons I stayed on for the ride, really. One of the early interviews with...I think it's Oukouchi...states that this is a 'success story', which means Lelouch would get *some* kind of win by the end. Of course, he also says it's a revenge tragedy, so maybe it turns out into a Hamlet-esque commentary on revenge as well. (Besides, Taniguchi's doing his usual thus far and Lulu's 'evil' are not without real social consequences. I'd like to see that)
