I did think it was a good ending too. Yes, my favorite character of all animes/games/etc I have came across is Lelouch, and I went all emoemo he died (...ok, maybe not.) but. I think it was a REALLY good ending. It solved all things that were neccessary (saving like, CC's name), at least for me. And personally, I like open endings when they're well made: they answer all things that CAN'T be left unsolved but still leave place for the viewers to think about it. Another thing was that, yes, Lelouch never changed since the beginning and I'm overly happy about that. <3 I think his ending was perfectly in-character. Even though I lovelovelove him, I think I wouldn't like the ending this much if he stayed alive. It would be... I don't know, depending on how it was made, it would destroy all things that were build through the series, I think? D: I must admit that I was VERY scared of this series ending up bad, since some things on the last episodes were very rushed, aand that would break my heart since Geass became my favorite anime. SO GLAD it didn't came true. tl;dr: CG is my favorite anime and I'm very happy to see it ending like this. Lelouch is my favorite character too and I'm even more happy to see a good, in-character, etc etc ending for him.
