I'm not entirely sure yet why people think he's the carriage driver.
There's really nothing to support it. I believe he's still alive (or at least like to hold onto that ambiguity that he might be) but I think every other theory is more likely. Even if he IS alive, I don't think they necessarily had to show him again, so...
