I know it's weird, but I thought it was more Lelouch is all "OMG, I can use his power to destroy Britannia--"
He's...ehh...not in the right mind at the moment. He'll get back into usual non-insane character next chapter, but I sort of wanted to do a foil of what happened at the end of Stage 1. It just seemed to me that after wanting to destroy Britannia for so long, he'd probably go "OMFGYES." if he found out that someone close to him just received the power to do so.
