Ok this is not the real thing but I doubt anyone would actually buy that ridiculously expensive material, let alone scan it anyway so this fanart is likely the only option atm :p Good thing it's pretty damn similar and even more gorgeous up close ♥ Anyone wants to print your own poster? XDDDDD

I just find it odd you're crediting someone who had nothing to do with the art.

And you do realize that many artists consider unauthorized, uncredited reposting to be not very far above theft, right? Fanartists have shut down their sites over less.

Yeah, that's why they need to know this is the internet and that people will re-post their stuff. If they don't like it, then they should never post art online and lose the ass-licking and praise they intended in the first place.

And this is coming from an artist who has seen her stuff on sale at conventions.

They need to grow up.

I do think that flipping out and closing a site is too much, but it's well within the artist's rights.

I just don't understand why this behaviour is downright encouraged with fanart, and yet everyone would crucify someone who did the same with fanfic, or even, god forbid, the genius that are 100x100 pixel squares called LJ icons.

Actually, no. Go look at a closed japanese fanart site - they often cite unauthorized and uncredited reproductions as the reason they closed. Often they threaten to close for those same reasons. I've seen notices like that on them pretty frequently. English-language artists tend to be cooler about it, but some of them have been known to do the same.

It's not just about claimed art, as obviously, not everone cares equally. I'm not saying I agree with them for these actions, but you can't deny that they happen. Not and be basing your statement in any semblance of truth.

Thanks but... that's still not their site, is it?

Google "Meimi Eiva" and I *think* the first result is their site (though I could be wrong; google translate is not all that great). Anyway, this is the first result I got: http://leivac.blog126.fc2.com/
